How much did u negotiate off the RRP?

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

So how did u guys set up ur loans?

CHP, Lease, Novated Lease, Chattel Mortgage, or consumer mortgage.

Maybe I should start a new thread.

Chattel Mortgage
5 years (only keep the cars 3 years usually)
35% balloon

I got finance at 6.9%, financed with Subaru finance (GMAC) - June 06

This is my second Subaru financed this way and all has been good, I had an operating lease previous to that and it was a pain in the ar$e, GST was a killer even though you can claim it back next BAS. Only benefit was you could include all maintenace (tyres, rego etc) in the finance cost.

cover your trailer? Im guessing you mean 'barbie' as in the one you cook on... you could be good to know, in Bris too 8)

Maybe we should start a 'member's connections' thread with what we do so if anyone needs something they can check the members area first... ???

If you walk off the street and don't know anyone in the industry the best way to get a good deal is to say you need finance, and plenty of it. That way they are more likely to drop their pants on the price of the car to make them look like the good guys.

After that they pull their pants up, tighten the belt really tight. They then pull your pants down and give it to you...........Sorry other things on my mind..........They sting you for finance.

When they go and do that, go and get finance somewhere else. Or pay cash (if your stupid).

I like the idea but when that happens a lot of people don't play by the rules. Everything needs to be up front with what they can offer. Too many people expect to receive a good deal but give one.

Go in there knowing the absolute most you are prepared to spend and be willing to walk if you dont hear the numbers you want to hear.

I walked into my Subaru dealership when i brought the rexy with a figure in mind. The sales manager laughed at me when i first said what i wanted, but after some solid negotiating i got the car for the figure i was thinking. 7K less than the normal RRP+On roads price and i got 3500 more than they thought my car was worth, so i walked away pretty happy.

Stick to your guns and be prepared to walk, a salesman who see's you hop up and head for the door usually will chase you and tell you he might be able to do something and they usually can.

Most important thing to know is, what cars are going for on the market, ring around the dealers and find out what stock they have and what they have on the cars. This will work for both the trade in and working on negotiating the new car price down.

Last but not least dont be impulsive, if your not 100% happy there is nothing wrong with walking out the door and saying ill think about it, the car will be there tomorrow despite what the dealer will tell you and purchasing a car will be the second most expensive purchase you will ever make after a house or business.

Except for the time you take a MY05 3.0 with 19K on the clock with a ticket price of 36K and book a test drive for the missus (who was studying for an MBA exam) to take it for a blat at 3pm. You both turn up and they'd sold the car - telling you that you should have put a deposit on it yet no mention of a deposit was made after the earlier test drive.

F'em we walked away and bought a B4 instead from a completely different dealer.
