Ok... The EJ20T Liberty's have the VF37 Turbo if you have an auto & a TD04 if you have a manual.

The TD04 is obviously larger then the auto's VF37.

Otherway around.. TD04 on a Auto, VF38 on a Manual.

VF38 is the larger of the two turbo's (and is twin scroll)

this site has pictures and tell what came on what model
http://www.gcg.com.au/turbo/ProStore.aspx?PCID=14

RHF5-VF38
Twin scroll turbo with titanium turbine and shaft.

Smaller compressor housing than VF36/VF37 provides tremendous spool up capabilities but less top end than VF36/37.

The spool capabilities of this turbo are demonstrated on the JDM Legacy GT, which reaches peak torque at 2400RPM.

I stand corrected...

After having the turbo inlet pipe off my car on the weekend I can confirm that the automatic turbo is the VF38 which is a twin scroll unit.

The manuals run the TD04*** which is also a twin scroll unit & is the larger of the 2 turbos.
