Ahhh F*CK IT!

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Well.. got the diagnosis..

FRHS Wheel Hub Assembly & Wheel Bearing
FRHS Shock Buckled
FRHS Control Arm possibly bent..
Rear Control Arm bush has split
and about 9 hours in labour!!
Also, the rattle was caused by the inspection plate on the torque convertor.. which they have advised me to take the car back to Subaru to get this resolved under warranty

Original quote was $2600.. managed to get it down to about $1500 through the use of second hand parts.. (hopefully!)

Should get the car back in a few days! (again, hopefully)

thinking about selling the car actually.. work (ironically) came to me today and offered me a fleet car for free (CommonWhore) which is quite appealing, and will accelerate the savings process towards the M3.

Any one interested in a set of Blitzen 18's with RE050A's & a Hyperflow TMIC? (oh, and a MY07 Liberty GT Sedan?)

glad to hear that rattle wasn't all that serious. Still I bet that's $1500 you could have spent elsewhere

On a lighter note, anyone remember the heavy rain which passed over Sydney yesterday afternoon? Well in the morning while I was playing around under the bonnet I left the sunroof open to let some of the hot air escape while sitting there. I wandered out to the car after that rain to see this

and open the doors to fortunately only find a little water on the headrest

and the centre bin lid

I know people who drive with the sunroof like that in the rain! Pretty good water drainage as the interior still doesn't get wet.

Well serious hats off to Japanese Wholesale Spares in Wangara.

Spent some time with Fats up there today, and he is going to fix the Sedan..

End result is :

Upgrade to aluminum lower control arms
New hub assembly
New KYB Shock (only the RHS as the LHS has <30k on it)
all fitted, with alignment

Here's the best bit..

$1150!!!!!

YAY

Getting them to do the 100 service on the wagon too!
