Updated my
FS and
WTB posts!!!
So the dream run of issue-free motoring is over for the minute.
I'm experiencing what feels like surging in S and S# modes when accelerating with boost in 2nd, 3rd and up.
If I stay on the throttle I get instances of "misfire cylinder 3" and even the related CEL once, IAM pulled to 0.93.
Of course I've used the BtSsm to log the issue and here it is:

https://flic.kr/p/ycrZrxThe log indicates that my stock, original clutch may be the source of the surging sensation, you can see the red rpm trace is sawthoothed, whilst the green speed trace is more even, dipping somewhat as the clutch slips.
Of course I googles up various FAQ's on misfire codes eg:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=2318069The misfire may be related to that or is just my sparkplugs needing replacement at 225klm.
So I searched spark plugs in the 2.5T section of this forum:
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=30040&hilit=spark+plugsLooks like I'll need either:
NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug - LFR6AIX-11- 60K klm @ $23ea
or:
NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug - ILFR6B - 100K klm @ $27ea
So once I choose sparkplugs (I also have a set of One Step Colder plugs in the pile which my local mechanic advised me to NOT use) I also have a set of used lower klm coilpacks to install at the same time, just in case any of mine are fubar-ed... They're known to corrode and or crack...
Whilst I was at the mechanics doing routine checks and topups, I mentioned my oil use again, saying I was planning to replace the PCV.
The mechanic, Sam, who has years of experience actually fixing cars

said: "why don't you test it?"
I was like "how, dont I need to remove it?"...
Sam: "Naaaaah just remove the oil filler cap and put your hand over the hole, you'll feel the PCV manage the crank case pressure on your palm."
Uncovered, the filler vents to atmosphere, mine wasnt particularly smokey, which is good. As you move your hand over the filler its possible to feel the pulsing airwaves venting from the crank case, and as I covered the filler:
"OK, feel the vacuum? Thats working fine"... "Ok" I said: "where my @#$%ing oil going then?"
He went on:
"Well it might be the oil control rings being a little loose, if anything, its a good thing, as it keeps your compression rings lubricated..."
Always look on the bright side eh?
Good to know for sure!
In the meantime I've cleaned my MAF and Cosworth airfilter and reset the ECU.
And of course if I don't thrash the car its fine, if a little sluggish
Any suggestions?
