Also got a package from Japan today containing the AV panel set for installation, and a Kido tune booked in for tonight. Excited!

Interestingly, I can no longer find the part on JapanParts.
Total: $216.71USD incl shipping to Melbourne. I think the cost has fallen in the past 12+ months as I remember it being around $300-330?
I note that this is the slightly larger 200mm one and does fit the 2nd gen 2013 version.

phly wrote:is this av panel different to the japanparts one? or will both fit the nexus 7 gen2?
japanparts still sell them -> https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/13926

Hey mate,
So I've been running mine for a few months and have the same power issues.
I'm currently running one of these (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Waterproof-D ... 5af371104c), but am upgrading it to one of these (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15A-DC-DC-Co ... 3f2569cfa8).
5a (max) is just not enough for, tab + usb3 hub + usb stick.
I have had to disable the fast charge as the tab was powering up/down when I had a USB stick plugged in.
The charge 'just' increase slowly. It's not at max yet, but was completely dead last week, but it 'just' should work.
New power supply should fix this and allow me to run the steering wheel controller with enough current to spare.
I'll post some picks of my setup when it's all upgraded.
