As some of you know? United has become the main sponsor for V8 supercars in regards to providing E85 fuel.

United is now beginning to roll out "RACE BLEND 107 octane"(Prem 98 + Ethanol) to its stations that already have E85 105 octane (reg + Ethanol)

I contacted United this morning to clarify and can confirm there is a difference in E85 and Race Blend 107 (not just a marketing gimmick). The person I spoke to also stated there is some new products / marketing coming out from United...but couldnt disclose them at this time...awaiting approval to roll it out.....stay tuned he said...

I filled up today with race blend 107 at "hallam VIC" and will see what difference if any it will bring in relation to cold starts....

On the tuning front? thats going to have to be for another day....or if someone has already done this could they please share? e.g more timing? more power? hard cold starts? issues? concerns?

So? in summary E85 will be replaced with race blend 107 as the new standard for United :)

Cheers

Since when does hallam have 107? I was there on Monday and they said it was only a "coming soon" sticker. As the main signage on the pump still states 105 and the staff said it's still 105 and my car didn't drive any differently. .. are you sure you filled up with 107?

Don't take their signs as anything to go buy. There's still large United servo's out there that have Premium 100 with the wrong colour handles on them still.

That exact sticker is the one I asked about - the staff said it's the same old E85, just new sticker. New 107 blend isn't there yet?

Unless you know for a fact it's 107?

Hahaha...come on man! You made the big announcement, I thought you could quench my curiosity!

Got in touch with Andrew, their head of marketing, who was dumbfounded as to how I got his details, when everyone of their staff forwarded me onto him (since noone else knew where 107 actually is ....... )

The new 107 is apparently in a quite a few places already, with the new fuel being "green" in colour. Andrew said their pumps will soon be updated with see-through tubes/nozzles sometime in the near future, so that we can see what we're pumping.

To see the updated list of servos (which should be coming out today) check https://www.facebook.com/unitedpetroleum. As you said J, it's replacing the old e85 :)

Jebus! We don't even have E85 yet, and they're already changing things around :? . Sounds awesome though!

Maybe the local refurb in Sep/Aug will go straight to 107 :D , especially since the V8s are up here next weekend (get the marketing link started).

Difference between the 2 is the new 107 octane E85 gets 15% 98 octane/85% Ethanol where as the old 105 octane E85 had 15% 91 octane/85% Ethanol.

The Nizpro car that was tested was a tad richer on the new fuel, .03 lambda was the difference.

Once fueling was corrected it made a bit more power.
