Did you double O ring it? i installed one not long ago with one O ring. gave me pressure issues, id recommend new fuel filter also

Nah just replaced the old ones.Do you mean the sock filter ?



Mine was filthy! So much dirt at the bottom of the bowl aswell.

Nah not the sock filter the fuel filter. youll have to use an oem sock filter the DW one will give you issues as ive been told. id double O ring it, even DW tell you to do it.

Ok I'll reinstall an OEM sock when I double O ring my DW65c (I cannot remember if I double o ringed it or not).

The OEM intank filter bucket (which is a 100K service item) is about $98 iirc from Makin and Luby, ask for Ashley's Liberty Forum discount

yes, its a bitch to put back together with 2 O rings you may need a second person, i did!

i have been contemplating this upgrade for some time and might finally get around to it in the coming months i think

As mentioned to chubbs alex on his install recently:

1/ Black slider clip which is in the oem fuel pump nozzle needs to be retained and used on the new pump

2/ Then you double o ring on top of that(as suggested in the DW installation), use the grease that comes with the DW fuel pump on the o rings( for install ease ) and then install the pump into the new fuel filter bucket ( preventive measures especially if going from pump fuel to E85 )

3/ The DW65c(liberty-legacy) fuel sock is the direct replacement for the oem fuel sock in our cars....orange in colour..and not the white one

if you dont retain the black slider clip and just double o ring...it will still give you issues....

refer to pic ( only thing missing is another o ring....but clip, and sock can be seen for reference )

E85 delayed till tomorrow night (monday). Something came up.
In the meantime, i painted the lower part of the rear bar in matte black with the intention of it looking like a plastic part. It worked, and it looks awesome!

Thats condensation not overspray by the way.

Its the early hours of Tuesday morning and my car is officially running E85.
Pump installed last night, and the new tune was flashed. Baby’d it around for 30km till i got a full tank of 85, then found out what it can do.

For those who want to know what the difference is / results / power gain / feel / economy differences between 98 and 85, here it is:
- MORE BALLS. It feels a lot stronger than before.
- Low down torque is noticeably improved.
- For me the best bit is when its revved out through the first 4 gears. Every gear feels just as strong as the one below it, and then you find yourself well above the speed limit.
- After thrashing it a bit, the gauge has gone down just over 1/3 and i’ve done 180km. Fuel consumption is at 16L. About 3-4L above what it usually does under those circumstances.

Theres a couple of issues with the tune at the moment, but i’ve got a new tune to load as soon as possible. After then the results will vary and i’ll probably be even more impressed.

Took it for a drive last night. I must say Matt has done a good job with it. Really pulls a lot harder from 3rd onwards.

Having said that, it's still slower than a Golf..which Jay found out the hard way last night.
Hurry up and sell it buddy, don't waste any more money on it. Start saving for a 335i

On the way home last night, you should have seen how quickly it pulled in 4th and 5th. That was easily the most noticeable improvement.
Jake and I were reallllly impressed.

I’m not spending more! All done and dusted. The $150 fuel pump was the last on the list!
