Slowly stripping the engine down, ready for removal.

Working in the late hours of the night, but engine and gearbox is out!

Do you see anything wrong here, Ted? We've got no engines!

The morning after...

Mmm yummy new Raceclutch...

In she goes... Bought one of those load levellers for the engine crane which made the job so much easier, and spread the chains apart so my manifold didn't get scratched.

Anodised red timing belt cover and anodised purple crankshaft pulley. Check out the sparkle of that paint in the sun!

New belts in...

Everything back together....and then the nervous first start. Click video below..
Started first go no problems! (ignore the whine in the video, it's not a supercharger...it's the power steering which had air in the system. Fixed straight after the vid.

I think I've mentioned everything. Might be a few things but nothing comes to mind. All in all, it was a very lengthy process. Quite a bit of coarse language and many cuts on the hands...but IMO well worth the effort for that extra bit of uniqueness.
Oh and the new clutch is amaaazing! The uprated 3100lbs pressure plate holds power so nicely and with a minimal increase in pedal pressure, if any at all.
It was a big PITA to take the manifold off! I've taken off an alloy intake manifold off a foz before and these plastic ones are so much harder. Fuel rails which pass through the flanges to the TGVs are the main problem, you even need to remove the injectors on one side!
Other than that, waiting for my new TMIC to arrive and the quad tips should be going on in the next few days.
