I always thought that anything over 1k would incur duty fee's unless a gift. I'd still enjoy hearing the story of how you "sort them out" though. Fisty's? :P

Yep anything over 1k will attract duty and GST - if you "sort them out" I want to know how too please! Good luck.

We should do a fast and furious style heist on the customs building.

I'm talking sub 5 second 0-100 from just a standstill flat foot no brake boosting and remembering its a pretty big turbo for a 2.0 litre auto and not fully tuned running 21psi

I'm not even joking now but the chassis sounded like it was twisting from the torque

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson.......POWA!!!!!! :D

Parts are 2nd hand and were manufactured in the USA, thus invoking the Free Trade Agreement ;)

Bastards made me pay for it first and then apply for a refund which (surprise surprise) takes 4-6 weeks to process

So now gearbox cost is as follows:

Spare gearbox purchase $1000
Acme kit : $2700 aud
Piston core deposit: $1080 aud
Valve body and core $1350 aud
Shipping and insurance $ 350 aud
Customs duty and gst: $ 580
Cost to ship back: $350 aud
Labour cost to assemble $500

Total $7960

Less core exh refunds. : $1800 aud
Less sale of spare box: $ 800
Less customs refund : $ 444

Net cost $4915

Expensive exercise for handling extra powaaah!
