I agree, cant just wire it in, turn the key and start, but given the businesses selling half-cuts are bound by legislation to provide a minimum 3 month waranty, you expect the engine to be usable. As per any 2nd hand engine you put in a car, a new water pump, , and other necessaries you would have with a major service...
w/pump, tensioner, timing kit, belts, filters etc, it is a must, and anyone not doing this is begging for trouble, however, turbos, cam gears, starter motor, alternator, exhaust manifolds and such, should be in working order. and as for the black box, and other parts associated with the running of the tt setup, should come with a 'complete' conversion set-up! you must be an absolute sucker if you think otherwise...
this is not what should be expected, nor the norm, for business practice in Australia. if thats how you do it elsewhere, so be it, dont do business here. Australians are honest, honourable people, and expect to be dealt with as such. especially when spending money. OR DO YOU DISAGREE?
And have decided to just build the ej25/ej20tt hybrid immediately. got the wiseco forged pistons, eagle h-beam rods, acl bearings, all ordered, block/heads get stripped down tomorrow to go for preparation. Hoping the added capacity helps minimise the V.O.D. and benefits spool time...
should have it back on the road next week...
still looking for a b4 bonnet and bar/lip if anyone can help...ez36/twin turbo build-up has started, but believe it will be a few months before its ready. (custom computer, loom, etc has to be done, which will be very time consuming)...
