I already have an r180?? I thought only 08 onwards have them?

It handles differently for sure. I lose the ass at about 4000rpm on corner exit..but then an instant later something grips and sends me understeering. Still getting used to how it pushes wide.
I stopped pushing it after a little bit cuz it looked like something was on fire, ended up being my diff oil on my exhaust lol.

Mine's an MY07, I spent some time researching and visually checking: AFAIK, it's an R180 Torsen diff in there... ;-)

If you want to upgrade, it's R180 plated diff time. Used from C$400...
Some more experienced ppl here can correct me, but you just need the bare diff and swap both it, and the ring gear from your Torsen diff, into your diff housing.

Wow Owen, I can only imagine what that is like
Are all of your diffs stock ATM?
Your ideal scenario might be STi torsen front LSD, Cusco Tarmac center diff, and Plated R180 rear, or just go a full DCCD coversion (and Plated R180 rear) lol...

"but then an instant later something grips"
(VLSD center heats up and kicks in sending some drive to front wheels)
"and sends me understeering"
(because of open front diff = less traction and or slightly stiff forward bias to the suspension setup?)

Although that would be nice...its unnecessary at this stage. Must refrain from spending more money on this until I get my EBC and avcs issues sorted

How do you confirm if it's an R180? I'll have my car up on the jacks tomorrow.

Left is R160 Right is R180

the only way to really tell is getting underneath with a torch and look at the top mounting point (where the most obvious difference is) which is pretty well concealed by your diff bushing.
