Thanks again Ben for letting me get my details up for analysis. Just looking at those values and comparing it to others it looks like there needs to be a revision done and soon. Matt, can this be done when you next visit SA this month please?

Matt took one directly after the dyno and a 20 min test drive and there was zero knock, he also said that of 2 hours on the dyno he heard absolutely no knock using the knock ears. He even increased the timing by 2 degrees to try find some knock and didn't get any, and then he returned the timing back.

I haven't had to drive the car since the dyno so have done no logs or LV, but I'll be taking an LV later today. An LV doesn't really give you that big of an insight anyway. The fact my car had zero knock on a dyno is more indicative than a learning view snapshot.

Apparently my car had zero knock on the dyno but a week later IAM = 0.875. Same tank of fuel too.

Too much red in the high load areas for my liking but that's just my view.

IAM is still 1.0 so still not too significant.

Ideally you shouldn't have any knock correction being made.

Your knock control is doing its job.

And yes get a revision sourced as if you're an earlier customer of Matt's he's since changed quite a few things. AVCS tables and Boost Management come to mind.

He's even admitted on OzFoz his boost error management was not ideal and most likely an issue. I did point it out to him a while back that it was causing overboost and oscillation. But what would I know...

You can drive fairly normally as the knock management is doing it's job and the extent is not severe enough to warrant any drastic action.

Don't reset your ECU however.

Whilst Matt hasn't provided an explanation as to the cause I'd not be redlining it though or doing any traffic light drags.

Just to let you know my driving style. Its spirited but not aggressive, and only on rare occasions. I also tend to short shift the paddles and not let the car red line out of habit. (I used to own a Ford which had lots of low down torque). My driving consists of 10km highway, and 20km city traffic of between 0-60kph and peak hour traffic. I haven't even taken the car in the hills yet to give it a bit!

Should I tone it down more?

Would also be interesting to see what dr20t, Mick, thinks about the LV and if any behaviour needs to be modified in the interim. He's been spending a lot more time understanding Matt's tuning style and LV output and knock management strategy.

I'm possibly at the other extreme, slightly OCD, where I like to see no FLKC registering regardless of how I drive and in any conditions. That goes for overboost and AF corrections being minimal.

Nothing wrong with being over cautious. Better to err on the safe side than be complacent and be sorry later. And yes, would love to hear others opinion on the snapshot too.

Like I said I got an LV AFTER doing the dyno AND a 20 minute trash around on the highways, so it was both types of driving. Also it was 32 degrees ambient temp. If it was a 43 degree day I wouldn't be trashing my car around anyway because I would rather not.

I don't have access to a laptop at home that isn't locked down with government software restriction crap (frustrating as hell we have 3 laptops at home!) so I have to drive to my mates place whenever I want a learning view.
Although I can see A/F corrections and timing in my logs directly to the tactrix anyway.

My LV after kido dyno + road tune after about 60 mins worth of light driving stretched over 3 days. 2.5 hours on dyno, 2 more hours on the road. Cost $330 for dyno time. Made 160kwaw.

So far so good, I was happy with that. Can't WOT the car in 1st gear because it will induce some sort of boost cut and you'll think twice about doing that again.

Finally had a chance to drive the car a bit harder on Saturday. This is the result.

This was after Subaru fixed some stalling issue. Have to ring them this week to find out what it was, partner picked the car up.

How's it looking?

To get a true indication after they fixed this "problem" i have reset the ECU as im home for 2 weeks and will be driving the car daily. Should get a good LV after a week and will repost to see how it's travelling. Car has stock tune as far as im aware. Recently had both OCV's replaced under stat warranty and timing has come back into line so thats good.

I didn't know Eric was so cheap until Friday at the kebab night when talking to a guy with a MY11 WRX STi who is using him.

For the next revision Matt says he will remove the popping in Sports, and I will do some logs to get the MAF scaling better hopefully. My fuel consumption is pretty good (average about 10-11 for all driving) but could be a little bit better.
