ciand06 wrote:anyone else using the Anycar Link AL-1080A notice a pretty long delay when skipping past certain tracks on usb?
normally skipping through songs is fairly quick, but with the odd file it seems to take around 10-15 seconds to load up...large file size maybe!?
ciand06 wrote:...looked into it a bit and it appears to be the larger the file size, the longer the wait. most mp3's i play are anywhere from 4-8mb which load up in good timing, the ones causing the delay were 14mb+.
fast forwarding is a little annoying (seems to only skip in 10 second blocks, one click of the FF wheel = one 10 second block). other than that, money very well spent!!!

I have just installed the unit in my 2006 3.0RB today and have found a few issues, the repeat button doesn't seem to change the input as it should, but when play is pressed on the the device not playing (iPod or AUX) it switches to that input. This does't really bother me since I will be using the iPod all of the time and just use the AUX when someone wants to plug something in. I have also found that the iPod will not pause when the car is turned off although it does when it changes to AUX or Bluetooth. Also the sound goes a bit crackly on the iPod when there's bass blasts etc, this might be just to do with the equalizer settings as I don't have this problem with devices on AUX as long as the volume is not turned up full. Anyway the details are below;
Car Make/Model/Year: Subaru Liberty 3.0RB MY06
Headunit Make/Model: Mcintosh PF-25511
Anycar Model: Anycar Link 1080C
Works: Yes
Change Track from Headunit: Yes
Change Track from Steering Controls: Yes
Devices Tested: iPod, Samsung Galaxy S3 (Bluetooth) and Samsung Galaxy S2 (AUX)
Bluetooth sounds as good as any bluetooth kits out there, and its all integrated![]()
oh and my uncle will be installing a unit in his MY05 3.0R soonish so I will let you know how it goes.
minidee wrote:A question for all those who have bought and installed the anycarlink. Where did you install it? In the console? The top cubby? Does it fit in the ashtray cubby if you pull out the ash tray? I'm interested in getting one but would like to know where the most practical place to put it is. Thanks in advance.
