I just read that as soon as I posted my comment... Hey! is my comeback! :D
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

Haha nice for the wagon as well that was a steal :P

for me being a first year apprentice when buying my lib i simply couldn't afford the 3.0r-b without having to get a large loan, the 2.5i is a great car and still does have some toe under foot, just don't get a 2.0r :P

I am defiantly planning to mod it, can't wait. I pretty much have a list of mods i'm planning to do over the first month or so that are relativly cheaper then moving up to wheels and exhaust as the more expensive bunch. Any problems with the 2.5i lib u got? Like anything should look out for when inspecting them?

like with any 8 year old car general wear and tear is the norm, to be honest i havent had any issues what so ever :D with subarus in general they can tend to use oil which you gotta watch, but the basics like make sure the 100k service was completed with the timing belt done and that the car has a good overall service history with no large 30-40km gaps between services

Yeah, just the usual, i'm sure the car will be well WELL looked after in my hands haha, going to be my pride and joy. Pretty much all my time will be spent cleaning, maintaining, modding and driving that car when i get it haha. I would love to go on some liberty road trips with some others on the forum as well. Get some ideas for other Subby lovers :D

Hi Matt i to am 18, i Decided to purchase a 3.0L earlier this year and the insurance alone was just over $1800 just to give you abit of an indication on how much insurance will cost you (if you went for the 3L) transfer fees can add up quite alot to as i found out! and with the fuel thing, it depends how much you drive it and where, example if you drive only in the city a 3L will chew fuel bigtime, highway travelling etc they get pretty excellent fuel economy, hope this heaps alittle bit and good luck on buying a car! :)

try gio car insurance, i know that when doing my quotes when i was purchasing my lib, i was a red p plater and roughly gio was around $2400 and just car around $2700, i went with budget direct which was $1300 as a red p plater i was stoked with the price HOWEVER I wouldn't recommend going with them after going through the claim after hitting a roo though

GIO is like 5000 -____- and budget is like the same as Justcar and AAMI. I think i'll just have to go for third party with fire and theft for first year and then go onto compo, its just to expensive....I don't get why it's so expensive for me :\

I paid $1,600 for full comp on my MY03 2.5L, but i have had a previous write-off claim on my first car. I got severely ripped off though, as i can find quotes for around the $1200-1300 mark now

Best i could find insurance for on a GT or 3.0R-B was about $2400.

That's insane!!, im in NSW and am with NRMA, $800 excess, ive had no claims, i can't believe insurance is so high for you :/ have you got it over valued? or maybe you could try putting your excess way up, if you dont get involved in an accident (god forbid) then you should save a good sum of cash :) Hope tis helps or aleats gives you something to consider.

Not sure of your age but I'm guessing under 25.
When I was under 25 I found AAMI to be way over priced.
For the car I had then (turbo) AAMI wanted almost 4000 and GIO gave me 1800.
Then when I turned 25 AAMI became the cheaper option.

Yeah its crazy... The cars agreed value is at around 12000ish and that is pretty what it pretty much should be, then the excess is around 500 - 800 from a couple different insurance places. All the hoon laws and young driver's crashing on their P's has raised it soooo much :\ kinda unfair on the drivers that arn't dicks on the road...
