Can't Pulse get more than that out of the stock turbo?

stock turbo.....?
only doing half the job if that's the case
you'll need something much bigger for 240ATW (TD06-20G+ and plenty of boost)

I realise this, that would be my final goal so will look into getting an after market turbo sometime next year.

It's only another ~$1500, i'd save the tune until after that goes on.
and they're pretty much right that you won't see any real gains from the (pricey) TMIC, without the Turbo upgrade.
and for only another couple of hundred, the FMIC kit would be a better option for the power goals

I would definitely go with the PW TMIC personally...

As well as being an excellent quality, locally produced product, it is quite a bit larger than any of the others I've seen and gives you a stack more options for turbo fitment as it allows you to switch to a traditional outlet turbo as oppose to the Liberty/08 WRX specific vertical-outlet housings.

I also tend to agree on the all-in-one hit option doing the turbo at the same time! If you are doing the exhaust and top mount, you may as well go the whole hog and do the turbo at the same time. The only possible extra bits you will need to support the power other than that is a 3-port MAP sensor(I have one, PM if you're interested in buying) and an upgraded fuel pump. That, combined with the turbo of your choice should be good for over 300hp on ASG's dyno without too much mucking around!

Who said you need a turbo to get big numbers with Pulse........

The record shows stock TB STI's after a Pulse tune can be as high as 200+kw atw.
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

need more details on this 3 port map sensor......

you mean 3-port Boost Control Solenoid.
they're not really necessary on small turbo's, and they require a lot of tuning time on the boost maps.
but do have their benefits to bigger turbo's

The process west one has it’s disadvantages:

- You can’t run an 07 STI Strut brace or certain other strut braces without the intercooler knocking and hitting the strut brace on certain occasions. That’s with normal fitment, however Phat did some modifications to mine to fit it further away from the strut brace.
- You can’t run an engine cover
- You can’t use certain aftermarket BOVs without having to cut into your thermal cover and splitted on your bonnet otherwise your bonnet won’t close as it hits the top of the BOV. Again, I had Phat mod this all and after some cutting everything fit. That was with a greddy BOV.

But yes it is large and allows for greater options when upgrading your turbo, plus it looks the goods.

Hahah... No idea why I wrote MAP sensor... I absolutely mean't BCS... and I would think ASG would probably still prefer the upgraded solenoid even on the stock turbo, but the need will certainly be more with an aftermarket one.

Agree on the disadvantages of the PW cooler as well, but if the OP is chasing a reliable 240Kw then I would be going for the best available performance TMIC which IMO is the PW. Plus, not being able to fit the engine cover, genuine STi strut brace, or certain aftermarket BOV's is not really a huge deal IMO... Maybe my priorities are different though!?

Yeh but you still need to know what the disadvantages would be regarless. And it's pretty much any aftermarket blow off valve as the stock one itself hits the thermal cover

You're looking at $1,800ish plus including installation. From what I've heard the front bumper needs to be cut

Yep front bar needs to be cut and removal of front crash bar, and mine cost me $800 installed btw. I would recommend the biggest TMIC you can get.

+1 for FMIC, then you don't have to worry about cutting up your engine cover or removing strut brace.
Phat has done some that didn't require any (at least visible) mangling of the front bar.

I would rather trim the engine cover slightly then cut into a bumper. Arith got a whole new front bumper so that's a different story.
