Hi Daniel,

There was a group buy for the gen IV guys but unfortunately us gen III guys miss out.

There is a product called VHT Nightshades that apparently works all right, I think it comes in a can...

Post up an intro thread too ;)

Hi Daniel, I used to dabble in tint sprays, but they were messy and time consuming. Luckily it's all overlays nowadays, where you take a thick tinted piece of plastic tint film and apply it to your taillights. It's very durable and it's been 2 years now and it hasn't faded or gone dull.

bugli wrote:There was a group buy for the gen IV guys but unfortunately us gen III guys miss out.

Unfortunately the place I buy from in America don't have an application for the Gen III. Otherwise I would have offered! Sorry. :(

I used this on my previous rides and it was ok. Not sure if they have changed the formula but it didn't come with any clear lacquer mixed in so the finish was very dull. You had to apply a finishing lacquer coat at the end to give it some shine. Otherwise your other alternative is to go a hobby store, and buy 'Transparent Smoke Tint' spray for hobby vehicles. Just like the VHT stuff but has clear lacquer mixed in so it has shine. Plus it's cheaper! A medium tint will run you about 2-3 cans.

But be sure to try eBay America first to see if other companies have the tint film application for the Gen III. The tint film is by the easiest and quickest. However be wary of the thickness of the film, as some companies sell thin film (pretty much the same as the ones used for glass) which will rip and tear when applied to plastic.

I note that you had the tune done at C&V, does this meen you're a shire boy? If so i'm just over the bridge, it'd be good to go for cruze when my Liberty gets back?

WOW! what a beast!!!!!
Yours is - without a doubt - the best looking lib i have ever seen (tangcla's comes in at #2). makes me regret getting a silver wagon! lol! na i love my car but this is something else, great job.

i really benefited from your write up aswell and may have to "blame/thank" you for getting me thinking about mods! so now i find myself booked in with Paul from Pulse tomoro about a new exhaust, tune and intake - i saw that u recommended him in one of the "ECU Tune" posts. I guess its too late but i hope im doing the right thing going with Pulse.
my mods are far from your level but hey - its a start right!?
enjoy, hope to see u on the streets one day- ill be waving like a crazy russian!

cheers

Sorry, I'm all the way out west (near Liverpool). I have a few mutant friends who are from the Shire though like Swingn and Noozal. Otherwise during the day I work in Kogarah. :D

Quite a lot of happy customers thus far, not to mention the more Libertys he works with the greater knowledge he acquires. So any new experience he's picked up will be applied to your car. :D

Naw, for me it's not about how much power you end up with, but how 'driveable' the car becomes. I asked Paul to sacrifice top end power if he could get most of the power up front for the street. He got it perfect and the car is a blast to drive on the street.

hope to see u on the streets one day- ill be waving like a crazy russian!

I'll try to remember that so that I don't mistake you for the average crazy person. :D
