Which Exhaust to go for? Just bought the Megan. Pics up

Postby thisisadu » Wed Mar 02, 2011 8:59 am

Hey all

I have been looking at getting a catback for my car
Currently since phat isn't making anymore of his quads I have seen that I am interested in

Does anyone have any experience with Megan Racing's OE-RS exhaust? The video of it sure sounds good and looks great, but I just wanted some first hand info on it

Also, there are the Invidia Q300's which I have seen someone on this forum have, but cannot find any pictures or videos of it

Which one do you guys recommend and why?

Thanks for the help

Actually PHAT will be making more quads, you just have to wait.
Still no ETA as he is waiting for a new muffler type to arrive so he can redesign the quads, but it is happening.

Man, $629 USD for a stainless steel catback? That's cheap! Looks pretty good too. And even if you factor in $150 for shipping, you're still a cool $500 cheaper than HiTechs, and that's just mufflers.

Yeah, I was quoted $300USD for shipping from the States.

Is it just me or does the Q300 system appear to have different sized mufflers to compensate for the flow.

Btw, my money would be on the Megan system, seems a lot more symmetrical, also are great price for a stainless cat back.

I just hope you can source one in OZ without having to wait too long for it.
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

I've been quoted about:

$900USD for the Megan Racing OE-RS system and

$1000USD for the Invidia Q300

both delivered

Looks good! Is it just me or does the right side hang a bit low? But yeah, day time pics when you get a chance! :D

Oh, and please please a vid of the exhaust note when you can for the exhaust video section! :D

If it's only a slight rumble inside, that's pretty good for a catback. What's the size of the centre pipe again? Have you had a chance to evaluate it yet? Enough to write a quick review? I think many on here are curious.

When I have time I'll try post a quick video of it

I haven't had too much of a chance to drive it as you can see it has P plates on it.... not really worth me losing my license

But yea its a pretty unnoticeable difference especially inside the car

It is a 3inch centre with a hotdog split to a 2.5 for the Y-pipe

It says direct bolt on from the website but it doesn't fit too well to the DP, so that needs a bit more work
