Yes indeed i want to see the rear end especially!

I need to get around to removing my high GT spoiler and get a low lip spoiler. Still happy with the look and quality? Or next time spend the extra and get a genuine Sti boot lip?

What's next on the list?

I'm still happy with the lip, although the quality isn't the greatest and requires a fair bit of prep work to make it look nice. If you are prepared to do this or pay for it then it's fine.
The original is rediculous in price and unless you can get one second hand, I cant justify the extra cash.

New project: Car PC

Since my last 3 cars have had an audio system with a screen in them, I've been feeling the need to get something in the Lib.
After doing a bit of research, I've decided to build a Car PC from scratch. The next feel post will see the completion of my system and screen install.

Hardware: (so far)

* Gigabyte Micro ATX Atom dual core 1.8ghz
* 4GB ram
* 500GB Seagate 2.5" HDD
* M2 power supply
* Micro ATX case
* Lilliput 7" 669 GL HDMI ultra bright 450cd/㎡ touch screen
* USB WIFI
* GPS receiver
* 4 port USB hub (powered)
* Tactrix 2.0 cable

Software:

* Windows 7 Pro
* Centrafuse 2 (Will upgrade to 3 when I find a good skin)

I'm still needing some help with the following software, I'm totally new at this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

* Need a GPS software or Australian map that will run in Centrafuse
* Need a dummies guide on OBD II software and how o integrate with Centrafuse (I'm liking the GTR gauges)

Ok so now into the pics :) and some fabrication work!

I was lucky enough to find a center vent unit for a very cheap price not long ago. This will let me go back to stock if I wanted to at a later stage.
After dismantling the compartment and LED screen, it looked like this.

Image

I then stripped the all the vents off and was left with a bare facia. I also stripped the Lilliput screen down to the front bezel.

Image

A trial fit meant that I had to do a bit of trimming to the screen bezel and a lot of filling of gaps to do. I then super glued it to the position that I wanted, making it easier for me to then apply the 5min Araldite glue for a permanent fix.

Image

I then started to fill in the gaps with body filler, before sanding it back ready for primer.

Image

Primer was then applied. I think it turned out well for something that only took a couple of hours :)

I'll post some pics of the actually PC tonight. I should also be able to finish off the vent above and reassemble the LCD.

Sounds interesting what you are doing, are you getting one of those 7" unit?

That'd be great!

I'm looking at the 6" ones which are around 95-100mm tall and around 167mm wide which gives 5mm gap each side.
My issue is their controls are on top so I have to mount it straight so I can reach them.
Good thing is they have fm transmitter so I don't need a new HU

I would really look into connecting it to the stock head unit as FM transmitters suck, that's what I'm doing with my one.
You may be able to relocate the buttons too, I could have done that with the Lilliput screen but luckily there was enough room for it.

Got a little further today, but had to stop working as the paint was not dry enough, I started to put light finger prints into the paint so I stopped and sprayed it again. I should be able to get some pics of the screen altogether and working tomorrow, modding after work sucks, there's just too few hours to do it lol

Here's some pics.

All painted here, looks like a factory finish.

This is where I started to put the screen back together until I realized that the paint was too soft still.

And some pics of the PC itself, slightly larger than a Wii, hopefully it will fit under the seat :oops:

Love the factory look! Can't wait to see the progress, coming together very nice :D

Hopefully that Car PC doesn't overheat on the thick carpet under the seat.

Wow that looks great!!

I wouldn't be able to move the buttons, I'm not that tech savvy unfortunately.

I'm hoping it will be ok, those Atom processors are pretty good they are designed to run fanless, so with the heatsink and fan + case fans it should be ok.

Here are some screen shots of Centrafuse running
