Yes you should change the throwout bearing. It is already included in your quote (it's the same thing as a thrust bearing).

Bought in Moorabbin.

The SMF with clutch, they sell for 680/690, and retail from adelaide is around 750.

I will install after this sound and my clutch getting worse, then I change.

Apparently I got the 500 Series clutch kit, don't know what's the difference. I think the different is in the flywheel, I got the extreme something flywheel.

But first thing first, need to find good body repair.

That's the exact part # I was quoted by Clutchpro in Adelaide. Thanks for the contact I was quoted $748 plus $25 shipping from Adelaide.

One thing I am quite interested in is if you could weigh the new flywheel, then when your old one is taken out weigh that one too. The DMF is a monster from the pictures I've seen!

Once you have it fitted I wouldn't mind having a drive of your car if you don't mind! Perhaps at the next Liberty AU event or we can catch up for some food some time.

I haven't come across any good panel shops though... maybe someone else here can recommend?

Yeah Jim.

Basically, from what I heard from the seller, that the DMF 2 flywheel become one, so theoretically it's heavier. The other advantage for SMF that you can machine if something broken or stuff? I didn't hear clearly, but yeah, machining like disc brake, where DMF need to replace totally.

Well, maybe I will put it after my clutch burn or something, but not now. You can try after I install.

I got quote that it will cost for 600-700bucks installation.

Damn expensive...

But yes, Anyone got recommendation for good but also not expensive body repair? Need to fix soon, even though my headlamp not yet arrive from US.

Yeah DMF is not typically machined only some shops are equipped to do it. Personally I wouldn't bother I'd just get a SMF

6.3KG is pretty light by the look of the holes you have in yours it's a lightened one (great!) I am expecting the DMF to be upwards of 8 to 9kg.

It's thereabouts of 6-8 hours job depending what method the mechanic uses, so the price you got quoted is right. I have also budgeted the same for mine. Did you get the pilot bearing?

couldnt get into gear today, held up traffic for a good 20min...car in mechanics

hes diagnosing the problem...lets see what he comes up with.

had this squeaking problem and heavy clutch...it could be both (flywheel & clutch)

My clutch was well worn and I just bought one of these kits an had it fitted. Got the car back yesterday. When I change gears there seems to be what sounds like crunching. Not as loud as when u miss a gear though. But can still hear it. Doesn't happen when I shift down though. Could this be because the clutch and flywheel haven't been worn in yet? Or is it that somethings gone wrong during installation?

Andrewt, did you hear back about what was wrong?? Ive recently got a MY04 lib, and every now and again i have decent trouble getting it out of gear or into. It doesnt happened heaps, but every so often. I find if i double clutch when it happens its alright, just wondering if you know why it was doing it?
