Well on the weekend me and my friend got access to his dads car lift so we decided to put the new suspension in the car.. It took the better part of a whole day to do.. But wow it was sooo worth it.. The handling is substantially better and the car doesnt bottom out on everything it comes near.

First thing was to jack the car up and get all the wheels off

Next step was getting all the stock struts and stuff out... which proved to be quite tricky as some of the bolts were stuck in there mighty good.

Big frustration of the day - I slipped while tightening the nut and broke the thread off.. Just had to swap the top off one of the old struts to fix it though.. but was still a bit sad about it.
Image

New Front struts/springs in comparison to the old. The old shock could be pressed in with almost no effort and the spring was loose even without spring compressors...
Image

The new rear swaybar :) 2 point adjustable Whiteline 22mm :).. makes the rear feel so nice now.. The old one was loose and had stuffed bushes.
Image

Had to use spring compressors on the bilsteins to get the rear springs off because they came out of a sedan and would have been to soft.. Found that the car had pretty new king springs in the rear already so i just swapped them around and it was all sweet

What the car looked like the day after the new stuff was in. Hopefully the springs and stuff settle down soon so the car doesnt look so AWD spec haha

By the way, is anyone interested in some kmac custom springs that were new at the start of the year?? they put the wheels just inside the guard (the guy before my said it cost him $290 for just the front springs and the same again for the rears). Also is anyone interested in some stock B4 Rear springs with about 40k of wear... any offers on these will be considered as I mainly just want to be rid of them.. And i have a stock swaybar and stuff i want to be rid off.

cheers

Am I reading it correctly that you have lowered King springs in the back but standard springs on the front?

thanks man!. hahaha yea its like the cars dumped.. but instead of lowering the back i jacked up the front :|... i hope it settles down an inch or 2 more at least though haha... It was fun working on the car.. I havnt really done much to cars before so doing this got me heaps inspired for more!

If it settles by 1-2 inches I would be worried about those springs! You should consider replacing the front springs, since running such a difference in right height front/rear plus no doubt much stiffer springs on the rear will affect your handling adversely.

I would even go so far as to say you would be better off with stock springs in the rear until then.

Got a Legacy rear taillight garnish the other day to replace my cracked one :) looks very nice, will get pics up soon, also bought a grill for the car which I paid for today so ill get it next week.
Does anyone have any ideas on how much It would cost for a respray and body work on the car, sprayed in factory colour?? Probably to much but It would be nice..
