Alright, fitted them last night/this morning. Not as easy as I thought, trying to fit myself into the footwell wasn't my most.. Dignified moment. But I got it done in the end. I found it really quite fiddly, but not very hard. Photo's will be up later today.

Oh and they look schmick.

That's a steep price for wheels, but then again, $900 for a full set is just ridiculous! Hell, if it's $900 for set, I'LL get a set too!!

LOL! Sounds about right for OEM wheel standards. Merc and BMW owners pay up the a** for wheel upgrades.

Looks awesome Daz!! :good: Do you mind me asking what you paid (incl del)? I'm negotiating a price with Subi Aust on these! LOL.

Correct - $900 each... And that's for the silver ones. Charcoal has been out of production for fair few months now. So if you can get Charcoal at that price - BUY IT.

Laps - I'll PM you a price for the Enkie's...

Jim - correcto-mondo mate! I looked at changing over my rims on my 5 series (started to get over the M wheels! LOL - me get over standard wheels.... never ) They were going to cost me nearly $6,500 for 4 18x9 3 piece composite rims from Germany... Yikes!!

I knew a guy who paid $10,000 for 19" 3-piece forged for his Merc. Crazy if you ask me.

just another post about HID's for your car mate,

the low beams make a huge difference, however i wouldnt suggest getting HID kit for the fog lights as thee MY08 does not have projector lenses on the fogs like the prefacelift models. This means that your fogs will have a bad cutoff and will most likely blind oncoming drivers. If you want to keep functionality of your fog lights than your best bet would probably be Phillips Crystal Vision or Diamond Vision bulbs, there will be a slight difference between the colour of the Low beams and the Fogs if you choose to go this way, otherwise Leo (hks180) sells 25 SMD LED's for the fog lights. This provides much better colour match to the HID kit in the low beam but next to no road illumination (ie when its foggy, your fog lights will be useless). Parkers are same situation, you can get the Phillips Crystal Vision bulbs but there will be a noticeable colour difference between the parkers and the low beams, Leo also sells 13 SMD LED's for these too. Some before and after pics are below.

Finally, if you do end up getting a HID kit, may i suggest you get a slim ballast kit. Not sure if Clarence's Phillips kits are slim ballast but his old kits were big ballast. The slim ballast provides much easier engine bay placement and looks a little bit cleaner.

Before: (sorry bout crappy quality, camera phones at night arent that good)

After:

This was with 25 SMD LED's for fogs, 13 SMD LED's for parkers and 6000k HID kit.

haha cheers for that Mahai,

however, im going more for looks than practicality, i never actually use fog lights anyway lol. I just dont want my headlights bright white, and my foglights amber, i want them to look the same colour. :P

Thanks for the pics tho, very helpful

P.S. Whats the significance of the SMD part of 25 SMD LED. Whats it mean :D

SMD - surface mount device

basically the SMD LED is much smaller and flatter than a conventional LED. Therefore you can get 9 SMD's mounted in a particular way into the parkers where as you will find it difficult to get 5 regular LED's going through the same hole. Likewise with the foglights, 25 SMD's mounted in the right way fit nicely through the bulb hole whereas 10 regular LED's would be difficult. It can be done but then you wont get even light output, thats why the SMD's are better in these situations

And btw, its Mihai not Mahai :)

OOO I actually really like the look of your lights, they colour match really well, and it must be a lot cheaper as I will only need 1 HID kit :D

Might take that path
