Help With Mods

Postby Laps » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:01 pm

Hello,

New here. See my post here for pics of my new ride.
http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6777

Anyway, there a few mods I want to do, but I need a bit of help. I will list them bellow and what I need help with:

1.STI foot pedal kit available from Japan Parts:
http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=1&car=134&middlesmall=2%3A13&maker=4&volkey=317-133-00
Now I saw someone fitted the automatic pedals to their libs in another post. So I assume that even though these are listed as being for an impreza, I could fit them to my Liberty?

2. HID Kit.
I want to change both my main lights (parkers, everything) and fog lights to a white colour (about 5000k). Does this mean I will need 3 HID kits (foglights, parkers, normal)? If so, is a foglight HID kit different to the main HID kit? Also, I read somewhere I will need to change to a 20 watt fuse? And what is tho go here. Some kits cost $150, some cost $600. Is there really that much difference between them? Anyone have any recommendations on where I can get a good quality kits and not too high a price? If someone could outlay exactly what I will need that would be great...

3. STI Front Lip.
I assume I just get this ordered/fitted at my local subaru dealer... Or is there a cheaper way to get this part?

4. Enkei Wheels.
Anyone know where I can buy the STI Tuned Enkei wheels?

Thanks in advance for all your help :)

#1: there's a pedal kit for the Liberty. not sure if the Impreza one fits or not, the dead pedal may be different.
#2: you need two kits, lowbeam (H7) foglight (H3) and optional highbeam (HB3). I can get genuine Philips HID kits for you if you're interested, let me know. $220 a set delivered. Parkers are $10 a pair.
#3: Front lipts are hard to come by.
#4: Even harder than front lips to come by. But I'm selling my wheels soon if you're interested.

1. Ok cool, can you link me to somewhere where I can get this kit.
2. Bit confused, did you just list 3 kits there but say I only need 2? Are phillips HID kits good quality? What is the optional Highbeam kit? And whats the go with parkers? Do I just swap the bulbs or something?
3. Can i not order a front lip from subaru?
4. I think im after these enkeis http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY07%2520Liberty%2520GTB%2520STI/MY07LibertyGTSpecBSTI037.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t103028.html&usg=__OoBD_ULjob7J0DEdMJ_cH6_kN9w=&h=480&w=640&sz=70&hl=en&start=2&um=1&tbnid=k4XIfnU1jcKiDM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Denkei%2Bwheels%2Btuned%2Bby%2Bsti%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26rlz%3D1G1GGLQ_ENAU348%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1

You just swap the bulbs in the parkers. The replacements are white LEDs, not HID bulbs.

Ok so it goes like this

Parkers - Replacement LED
Low Beam - HID Kit
Fog Light - HID Kit

What about the High Beams???

Also anyone have any answers as to where I can get STI Pedals (that will fit an 08 liberty), STI Front Lip and Enkei Wheels...?

Most people leave high beam alone, as low beam is plenty bright, and HIDs don't like being flicked off and on.
Also, I think there is an LED option for the foggies too.

If you're in Victoria, Tangcla can help you with HIDs and LEDs.
Up in NSW, have a look at viewforum.php?f=42

Does this mean if I high beam it will be a mix of orange/white colour?

Also, no one is replying about the other stuff I would like to know :( (foot pedals, sti front lip, eknei tyres)...

The subaru dealer said the only foot pedals I can get from them is the STI ones that have the pink rubber (ugly).

I didnt ask about the front lip because I didnt know I wanted one at the time, but where is the cheapest place to get one?

And do dnkei sell those wheels to the general public?

Yes I have tried japan parts.com, I said this in my earlier post

The particular information I was after about the foot pedals is if anyone has fitted them to their manual liberty (http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist. ... 317-133-00). I have an 08 assuming pedal arrangements differ from year to year... Just need to know cause they are listed as for an impreza, and I dont want to waist my money...

Also, I think i will get my front lip from ultrex (http://www.ultrex.com.au/subaru-liberty-front-lip-spec-b-my07-p-317.html)
Seems like a pretty good buy considering I just phoned subaru and they said $900...

Just got a price on the enkeis fron subaru... They are $900 with no tyres ;(

Anyone got any answers on my earlier post about the HIDs

Dude, stop being so pushy. If no one replies then no one replies. Your aggro attitude doesn't help, especially being a newbie on here.

As Tangcla mentioned, you will need x2 separate HID kits. 1 for the low beams (H7), and one for the foglights (H3). The parkers use T10 wedge bulbs so you have to replace them with white LED bulbs. I don't recommend upgrading the high beams to HID because they won't be used that much, and high beams are meant to distribute light to a wide area. HID's will be focused, and narrow, so a HID conversion kit won't be as effective. I also don't recommend LED's for the MY04-MY06 foglights. They are very dim and won't look that nice.

Unless someone else has done it and can confirm, I probably wouldn't get pedals made for the Impreza.

STi front lips are usually from the dealership, because although it's cheaper to buy from Japan, the shipping will usually even out the costs. I think some vendors here have replicas available for your model year.

Japanparts have a part listing for the pedals for the Legacy. Not sure whether they are the same as the Impreza but just go with those ones.

Save you from doing the research, the Japanparts part number/s applicable (don't know what the difference is):
1005G-020-079
1005G-020-080
1005G-036-040

Sorry if I have offended you arith, I simply kept repeat myself because I didnt want people to forget what my questions were (as they would have gotten lost in the convo). I didnt want to have to make 50 new posts on the same thing. My intention was not to be pushy or agro, so I appologise.

Tangcla those part numbers all say 03/04/05, will they still fit my car. And I cannot tell the difference between any of them lol, all 3 part numbers look exactly the same to me, and the descriptions are pretty similar

Thanks for the post about the front lip Arith. Im thinking of getting the one here for $300: http://www.ultrex.com.au/subaru-liberty-front-lip-spec-b-my07-p-317.html. I saw a post somewhere before about installing yourself, so Ill have to try find that again and itll be all good
