Dust behind stereo fascia

Postby suby11 » Mon Sep 14, 2009 4:41 pm

I have a 07 GT Specb with the McIntosh stereo which has the glass fascia and there is heaps of dust behind the fascia particularly the area that shows the temperature and fan speed etc.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this without taking the fascia off? I have tried using a aerosol can that blows air to clean computer keyboards etc but that only left a film behind the glass and didnt do anything about the dust.

Any ideas would be a help beacuse I dont really want to have to get a dealer to take it off in case they scrath or break it.

You're on the right path, but you'll need something a stronger like an air compressor gun etc. One squeeze of the compressor nozzle, and those dust particles will be blown away.

Tip: Make sure your console is clean & dustfree beforehand, you don't want to blow any extra particles into the fascia.
