pedals - difference between pre and post facelift??

Postby cyrus_b » Mon Sep 28, 2009 1:34 am

just like the title says: is there a difference between pre and post facelift pedals?

asking because on japan parts, the sti pedal kit is almost double the price for the post-facelift model

Probably the only difference is the styling. Looks like they changed the style for what came with the JDM STi from the pre to post, with the 2nd version appearing to have those inserts. I guess budget and style preference will be the deciding factor on what you end up with.

Hi there thats right, the difference is the black rubber inserts. I just got a pair of st: S/N: 1008P-001-018 from japanparts the other day and just played around to put them on, and they do fit ok on my pre face.I think they look better then the pink ones but thats just me :D
Cheers :D

Georgie Boy going crazy with the mods aye ;)

I've got the original STI ones. I think they have a more sporty look compared to the new ones... But then again, with the grip pads on the new ones, they could actually prove to be a benefit :D

I haven't had an issue with my shoe slipping on the face of the pedals of mine and it has the normal "sports" pedals or whatever they called them - aluminium with round rubber spots sticking up off the plate. The times when my shoe does slip is when I'm using the edge/corner of the side of the pedal and heel-toeing. Doesn't look like these would fix that for me *shrug*

so boys - im assuming then that the pre-facelift pedal kit should fit my post-facelift GT's pedals...?

im interested as to whether the bigger pads on the post-facelift provide any extra grip to the shoes? i havent really ever used metal pedals before so im not sure if it would make a big difference. frankly, the old pink ones look a bit more funky and sporty - which i like, but the new post-facelift also look like they provide a bit of extra grip with the larger rubber pads....

so : do the rubber pads do enough to warrant the extra $100 odd ??

thanks again, itching to order these and a few other bits and bobs.
also, does anyone know where i can get a pillar pod for some gauges - one thats made to fit the liberty?
