i bought 2 x TD04's for $340. GT35R = 1800+gate$$$. A Friend suggested it at the start of the year, but i was blinded by the name and bling of garrett. TD04's come standard with internal gate, and cost 200 for a compete rebuild i can do myself. Waiting for the RomRaider release, so i can then reflash myself with the wideband. Then i just need to bolt everything on and get a 3 or 5 bar map sensor as outback is MAP. my sti pinks are a drop in, so $500 for injectors. and run a 300zx fmic. piping is all going to be done DIY.
Whole idea is to do a compelte turbo conversion for under $2K with a stock motor.
I was expecting around 23-240, but after missing areading about the other TD04 beast i think making 250-60 on the stock motor with a really safe tune and see how it lasts. I am tempted to turn the bost up to say 12-13psi and crack 300 for shits a giggles.

but the motor would take it for long me thinks. rods are nothing special and the pistons will let heaps of blow-by to get past.
currently still sorting out the suspension for the outback, not quite right yet. It is getting a complete adjustable multi-link rose-jointed rear end. will allow adjustment of wheel track and camber, should be done in week or so. wheels track will be the same front and rear = more turn-in. and i now have the 7kg rear springs in the rear to match the 6kg fronts. Then a re-pack of the sti spec-c r180 plated and to the track i go.
