haha ya.... y would u guys have a go at a car nooobie lol.... i'm just not that tech orientated although i do enjoy my drives =P

well.. at least i admit i dunno much and am ready to accept advice =P

my biggest issue and thought now is can i actually fit those BBS Sti rims on lol.. being 5x114 hub... if they wont then theres not real point going ahead with the conversion... might as well do some performance mods to the car...

Could that be confirmed as I really want the rims and 6 pots as well when money allows.

BBS sti are 5x114.3 235/40/18, gtb is 5x100 215/40/18 and tbsti is 5x100 225/40/18 as far as what i have found online? can anyone confirm? the gtb might be 225 as well...

does anyone have 235 treads on their car? any issues with clearance?

so to fit the BBS sti rims, will need a hub conversion, prob not worth the trouble... maybe they have a made in china version of the BBS STi rims with 5x100 =)

if i cant get the rims to fit i dont think i will go further with this, i might get the brembo 6 pots for the front and keep the 2 pot at the rears and do some performance mods....

S402 does not run the big hubs. You can purchase 5 x 100 BBS S402 rims from Japan Parts etc

suggest you just buy one of these http://www.goo-net.com/cgi-bin/goojp/us ... mary_w.cgi and then strip parts off yours and replace them with the S402 goodness engine included.

I run 235/35R19 on my car with zero rub... and not even rolled guards... so you are not going to have any issues, provided you buy the correct offset!

I doubt you could purchase flared guards easily anyway...

Another option which is certainly less heavy on the wallet, is Rota do a copy of the BBS wheel --> http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=42

Ordered the glass secondhand from Japan, you can't drill the glass as it's tempered and it will shatter on impact.
Water reservoir, yes, it's all plumbed in.

1) what offset do i need? is there anyway i can TRY on a wheel of the same dimensions and offset to check?

2) i cant order the s402 flared fenders / guards unless i have a vin =(

tangcla : how much did it set u up, is it easily removable to revert back to stock?

Probably about $1K in parts, and easy enough - just need to get the original non-wiper glass put back in.

1) Offset for the 18 x 8 or 19 x 8 for that matter, should be +45 to +48... The above rims by Rota are +48 as quoted and would fit perfectly.

2) as I and a few others have mentioned already, the guards/fenders on the S402 aren't any wider than the ones you have on there now... the difference being the vents in the front guards! So VIN or no VIN... makes no difference!

99) In my opinion, if you aren't looking to make a completely genuine replica(ie: buying an S402 and bringing it into AUS and swapping everything over) then I would be going with replica parts as oppose to trying to get some genuine bits...
The Rota wheels will be fine for driving around on the street and will look virtually the same for less than a 1/4 of the price most likely!
