If the difference between these measurements is outside the expected range then the CEL illuminates along with cruise light flashing. The error code points towards "catalytic efficiency outside acceptable range".

Its no biggie and wont trigger 'safe mode' etc. The reason manufacturers make it look more daunting these days with cruise light flashing etc is because historically many owners we blase' about CEL's if the car still seemed to be running ok. This way owners pay more attention and get it looked at.

A high flow cat in many cases will not operate the same way as the factory cat and therefore the measurements are different to a stock system.

A tuner will simply adjust the thresholds in the ECU for the "acceptable range" and the CEL wont light unless there is a real problem.

UrbanGTB - The hose from the intercooler to the throttle-body is a common one not to be re-connected correctly and is a b@stard to get to. Others could be the two lines to the blow off valve. Most others wont need to be touched to fit the dump.

X2 for the lot including the TMIC pipe done that myself a few times  .
I know with the Euro jobbies even the type of cat used can throw it out, whether it be 100 cel 200 cel 400 cel etc in some cases you need two cheap cats to equal one good one just to satisfy the ECU, as Boxer has indicated
Its best to get a tune anyway and take advantage of its improved breathing.

same here and last time I saw Dwayne he was grinning from ear to ear....I predict that his cel issues had to do with loose hose

Some? Try the majority. :D We're talking 30+ dump pipes to date, with only a very small number experiencing issues, and almost all of it was due to the install or something indirectly related like vacuum hoses and what not.

It's easy to blame the dump pipe, but it's worth further investigation.

I know at least 5-6 of us have thrown either 1 or 2 CEL errors in the time we have had thedump+ezorst+centre which is nearly 20% so I disagree with the "small number" quote, however it is uncommon for the error to persist frequently most CEL errors are 1 offs or infrequent. However agree 100% it is likely to be other factors not the dump, mine was do to a boost spike :) which has nothing to do with the dump....

What CELL is the cat?
are they 200cel or 100cel or 300 cel..
if Liverpool Exhaust put different cats in them that is also a good reason as to why some get a CEL CODE etc. Alot of cars these days can only handle upto 200cell. any less eg 100cel and it WILL THROW an engine/Cel light.. Liverpool exhausts may have used 100cel in some of the PHAT dumps when they made them nad 200cel in the others... that is one thing that it could be

guys, to put this to bed, it was a hose not reattached to the BOV. Kudos to Phat for nailing it straight on.

I'd like to say at no point was I questioning the quality of Phat's gear - it is fantastic.

I've got a photo, will post tomorrow, been a busy few days, and im tired as all hell.

However, the tune is freaking awesome. Laughed like stupid numerous times on the way home. will post more on the Perth group tune thread.

I'll put this in the first post too.

Cheers

Dwayne
