Butt out Sydney boy !!! :angry2: And your other spamming mate! :D

Guys, the Sydney boys are just trying to stir things up to cut me out of the next cruise. Bad Sydney boys, bad. So let us just settle this and say it won't be the 17/18 Oct weekend. No I am not going to Moto GP, just giving away my daughter that weekend! :angel:

Wagga is sought of too boring for a cruise and we would almost have to stay overnight. If we are going to do the overnight thing, then we should tackle the Vic Alpine Region (round trip over Hotham, via Bairnsdale, Omeo, Bright, Glenrowan and back down the Hume to Melbourne). I would suggest overnight at Omeo, then a good early morning photo shoot at Hotham (tempting Tangles?), and some nice twisty Alpine Road descent into Bright for lunch, then an afternoon single file cruise down the Hume to home on the Sunday. Now that's what I call a cruise!

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Not trying to cut you out mate, just stating my thoughts on those roads on that weekend. All good :D

Now that route is a LOT of fun. I'd suggest modifying the second day to reduce some slab km's (if you have the time that is). Instead of heading up to Glenrowan, 5-10 km's out of Myrtleford take the turn to Oxley then at Oxley instead of heading to the Hume, turn down to Whitfield and take the road across to Mansfield. From there you can either head out to the Hume at Yea or down to Alexandra and down to Buxton where you would have a choice of either the Black or Reefton. At least that's what I'd do to maximise my fun :wink:

I'm always down, Donna Buang hill climb from base to summit is one of my top rated stretches of road VIC its ace. :D
even a track day would be good for something different, but you just cant beat going through the hills!

++3.

The only thing that beats a brisk, steady run up to the top of Donna Buang, is a fast run up to the top at 4am when there are no cars, so that the full width of the road can be used :D.

Just watch out for wombats; I took out my headlights on the way downhill after I hit one. Had to limp back to the nearest town in pitch black with only my foglights working (which don't shine very far btw).

Is that a +1 for the track day, or for the hills? I suspect it is for the hills.

The next Winton 'Fun Day' isn't until the 13th December. The fun days are the cheap track days where you don't need a fire extinguisher or a cams license.

And count me in for the Reccy run through Reefton! :D

Crikey - with the amount of interest in the reccy run, we'll might as well do the cruise then! LOL.
