Brake shudder - Help to solve please

Postby benvw » Sat Jul 11, 2009 4:56 pm

Hi guys,

I just bought some rotors and put in new pads. I was hoping to get rid of a brake shudder problem that I had. This hasn't worked and I am now at my wits end. I tried a second set of second hand rotors and this has marginally reduced the problem. I am getting the other one remachined to ensure there is nothing wrong with surface.

Look forward to your advice.

Have you checked your wheel bearings

good place to start if you have changed the rotor's or had them machined

get the discs machined and make sure they arent warped...

whilst your at it bleed and put some new brake fluid in..

make sure your rims dont have a buckle in them either..

Ive just recently discovered mine have got light to moderate shudder. :( Looking back at the service records for the car, the disks are only 13000km old and the pads are nearly brand new. This shudder is on fairly heavy brake application, town driving you don't notice it.

Let us know if you find a solution!

I believe we are both running standard BBS rims.
