Name: James
Car: 2006 MY07 GT SAT Auto
Purchased: 2007
HISTORY
I bought the car from Sydney and shipped it across to Perth. It arrived completely stock

BURBLE
so first thing to change was the exhaust so I bought some hitech quads and subsequently got a 3" centrepipe made up to tidy up the alignment of the tips (photo was before the centrepipe was made).

LAGGY
The fly-by-wire thottle was doing my head in so I fitted a sprintbooster which transformed the car from laggy to lively. The only drawback to the new responsiveness was the eagerness to change gear when you put your foot down (I generally used the paddles to over ride this anyway)
I tried an APEXi pod filter but the noise was too much so I simply swapped the panel filter to a K&N
COSMETICS
Next was the wheels, they looked ok, but the previous owner liked rubbing the kerbs. I didnt want rims that were too showey, the 18" spec B shadow chromes were perfect! These were followed quickly by a front STI lip and rear lip spoiler. By this time I was getting to know the TNT delivery guy by his first name

The look was almost there for me. I tried a corazon grille, but found out the spec B bumper is too diferent and I ended up with a JDM honeycombe grille. I added the GT badge (JDM) to the front grille to personalise the look slightly.

SUSPENSION
Next was to sort out the suspension, so Phat sorted out a set of TEIN S-techs. The final ride height was perfect for me. The bumps in the road are more noticeable but the corner was much improved.

A whiteline front strut brace and front and rear sways definately improved the handling. Surprisingly the harshness of the ride (since the springs were fitted) was improved and the car felt all round firmer on the road. Cornering is brilliant now.
PERSONALISE
Fitted the TORPEDO plates (my company name) and got the rear windows tinted to match the front

PERFORMANCE
Most recently I had the Phat DP fitted (awesome product BTW) and had the car VERSO tuned at ASG. The dyno results were as follows:
Green: Power
Blue: Torque
(thick lines: tuned, thin lines before)

AFR fixed

The HP gains werent that major but the AFR and torque curve was dramatically fixed resulting in a diferent car. I was never after huge numbers, just a quicker 0-100 car. The boost comes on much earlier and pulls harded through to the end. The only drawback is that the gear changes are very smooth at the moment (it seems to sit on the redline for a little longer than before the tune). Sean from ASG assures me that the delay will go after a few days once the auto transmission computer adjusts to the new maps. The sprintbooster is no longer fitted, and whilst the car is definately quicker on boost, the livelyness has toned down a bit - Im just curious how the car would go with that fitted too?
CURRENT LOOK

Thats it so far...

Well done.
