Help me fit Whiteline sway bars (Melb. West)...

Hi folks,
I am quite sure Sentinel will rib me about this, but I would like some assistance in fitting my shiny new sway bars to my My07 sedan (from the group buy).

While I'd be happy to fit them myself, I do not have the required equipment at home (stands) and I the last thing my garage needs is more bits - esp. as the cheapest set I found were ~$40 @ Supercheap.

Pedders will fit them for me for $145, and if no one is able to assist, then I guess that's where the car will be on the 18th (Saturday week).

I am in the Willamstown area and would be happy to travel to someone who knows what to do/has done it and has the equipment (ramps/stands, torque wrench/bar etc.). Naturally I'll supply the beers and do all the work - while you sit back and watch me skin my knuckles

My place is miles away from you, i live in Healesville in the Yarra Valley, so if you get desperate and can be bothered taking the drive, bring the car up to mine we can change 'em. Easy job.

When do you want it done? I'm down in the South East Suburbs. I haven't got a torque wrench, so I won't be able to help you if you want your bolts and nuts tightened to the correct torque, but if you don't, I can help. I'm free tomorrow and friday. Working the weekends.

Also, these front or rear swaybars? Or both?

Daz should be the goods, but needs tools. No point attempting the front without long the bar though. Daz - he's got front and rears.

Me - I'm bloody useless on the fronts with my back and my tools are in Geelong. Doh! (Daz, that's why I haven't contacted you! )

Yeah. I'll be happy to help you with the rears, the fronts.. Not so much. Not until I get a breaker bar + torque wrench. lol. When I put my front ones in it took a few hours, obviously because it was my first time, but that breaker bar is really needed to remove the front cross member.

Have you tried going to other independent mechanics, they should be able to do it. Relatively simple if you have the tools.

Thanks Darren, however it sounds like the fronts are the sticking point...and adhar, yep,Healesville is a bit of a drive, but on the plus side, it's close to the twisties May yet take you up on this.

I did try a couple of local places, $80 is the best so far...but they are mon-fri (and I work weekdays) ...still, might be the best option as the fronts are sounding like a PITA.

I'll make a few more calls to suspension places tomorrow and see how they go.

Hi Guys, I decided to get it fitted by the local garage, $80 and 45 min's later the car is now sitting whole lot better in the turns.

I have only had a short run with it, but it's easy to see the difference.

It's set on the hardest setting and it just perfect for me. See what the wifey says when she comes back from shopping...if nothing, then mission accomplished

Congrats mate, but one little thing, you said the cheapest car stands were $40. Please dont skimp on safety equipment, at the end of the day it isnt worth it. Trust me ive had some serious accenients, even i dint realise how much they can effect you (thats a story for another day, lol). I realise you didnt buy them but im just trying to give you some worth-will advice. Please dont take offence to this comment.
