Hey Rivsta,

Firstly, welcome to thr forums and congrats on getting your first Liberty !

The AV Panel set aren't available locally and need to be purcahsed from O.S. websites such as Japanparts.com, you also ave to be mindful of which panel set to order as there are slight differences where the aircon control are different.

As most of this stuff have already been mentioned in this thread and others within this forum and rather than "clutter up" the thread, please feel free to email me directly with any questions you might have that you can't the answers to at lok_lowe@hotmail.com

I just noticed one of the other members has one of these AV panels listed in the forsale section ->
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5442

Also, why not not make a post in the introduction section of the forum here and tell us about yourself and post a piccie of your new pride and joy for all to see ! We love Libs !

For those who been asking me what I replaced my Kenwood system with after selling the whole kit & kaboodle to "Silly Sora", here's a quick happy
snap of the latest Eclipse AVN 4400 ->

It pretty much has all the same features as my previous Kenwood rig, but all housed in the DOUBLE DIN chassis. It has the added advantage of a detachable portable handheld Tom Tom gps unit.

Im still running the stock single disk HU through a LOC to my amp. Im still wanting to get a McIntosh or the 6 stacker kenwood but they're pretty hard to track down. I have good sound quality with mine at the mom but i just want a unit that can play MP3 discs.

So what setup do you have now that the McInt... isn't in there. What amp have ya got?

I think you should bite the bullet and get an aftermarket HU, especially if you have playing MP3's in mind.

I was previously running the Kenwood DDX5032 + KNA-G431AU + KCA-BT200 which I sold to get this latest Eclipse AVN 4400. I intend on getting my
spare Eclipse PA5422 four channel amp wired in when I next have some time free to make up all the wiring harnesses and rip out the old McIntoss amp that's still sitting idle underneath the passenger seat.

sounds good!

i recon i should. i was gonna do it before i bought the phat mufflers but i thought id wait off for a while. I just cant wait to get my muffler to see what they'll sound like coz i went for the mild steel one instead of the s/steel and i havn't heard them on the 2.5i yet. Anyways keep us updated with the audio mods.

Thanks for your kind words Steve :D. I've almost got installing stereo's in Liberty's down to a fine art as this is my 3rd install of a HU in a Lib. I won't go as far as saying I can do it my sleep quite yet .

Hey Dan,

Yeah, I know what you mean about being excited to hear what the PHAT mufflers will sound like fitted to your 2.5. I'm sure that you won't be disappointed and I don't believe your selection of mild steel instead of the stainless will impact on the exhaust note. I can only imagine it will sound GREAT seeing I have them on my 3.0R which although has 2 extra cylinders, but is also an N/A. I owned a 2.5 N/A about a year ago and I fitted a pair of Lukey's on that car and I had to
make a couple of mods on it so that it wouldn't cause cabin drone. I'm really glad that PHAT has done all the hard work in sorting all this out for us. I think my wallet is about empty, so mods will be a little light on.......

sorry for the off topic question Loc but how did ya fix the cabin drone when ye fitted non OEM mufflers? I hope its not too bad otherwise it'll drive me insane
cheers

Hey Dan, I wouldn't worry yourself with cabin drone seeing you've ordered the mild steel PHAT exhausts. The PHAT man has gone through many and various mufflers to select these ones and they don't cause cabin drone. Just for your information, I had to modify those Lukey mufflers I had by changing the piping that was inside the muffler body. As I said, you don't have to be concerned about cabin drone with what you've ordered.

Cheers,
Lok

Hey Everyone
I'm kinda new to these forums
A big thank you to Lok who has helped me with afew of the questions i had with this install
that helped a bunch

Stage 1 of the install is all done
Hooking up the new stereo and facia using the stock speakers :D

Stage 2 (over a few days over christmas break) change out the speakers, add sound dampner
I have some Soundstream RF-60C's for the front and some Soundstream XTS 3 ways for the rears
(I think they will all require custom mounting blocks)

Stage 3 is to install the 5 channel amp, run the RCA's, and rest of the speaker wires, add the sub and hook up the reversing camera
