AVO Lunch Box

Postby hks180 » Mon Jun 22, 2009 9:58 pm

During the weekend finally got my hands on the AVO air box kit (thanks Phil aka MY07GT for organizing getting them), for the money i think they are not too bad ... would LOVE to get those Blitz carbon fiber intack kit but .... NO $$$ LOL

Anyway spend Sunday installing these ...

Image
What you get for $200 something  and had a quick read the instruction

Image
Had to remove my Apexi pod filter .... then .. man extra pipe !! my front mount pipe .... :(

Image
So before i start chopping the air box i made a template using cardboard box ..

Image
Ok make sure everything is ok ... lets start cutting

Image
Turn out ok ... also put some rubber hose on the edge to stop rubbing

Image
Intake pipe goes in

Image
Lid goes on ... the finish on the lid was pretty average you can see the sand mark ... :?

Image
Image
ALL DONE !!

Should be lot easier for people don't have front mount piping.

Feedback ??
One thing i noticed is less intake noise ....... other then that NOW u can't see the pod filter ~~~~

Does the airbox come gloss black?

How much did the airbox set you back?

Great work Leo! Looks like quite a bit of work went into the box to make it fit around Phat's piping. With Norm ordering one as well, looks like he's got a bit of work ahead of him to get his to fit with the front mount. :D

hdi gt2 fmi?

FMI I guess refers to a front mount intercooler
GT2? As in the 911 GT2?
HDI? As in the Peugeot diesel? Or as in HID lights.
