bodykit/exterior parts - need advice

Postby cyrus_b » Sat Jun 13, 2009 5:48 pm

hey guys,

So i've been looking for a bodykit/cosmetic parts for my MY07 GT, and i've come across a few options.

Im looking at the INGS applied-D kit, the Albero Liberal kit, and the Syms kit. Another option is the combination of the Zerosports front lip and some strakes and a diffuser.

I don't want my car to look particulary ricey, but i do want it to look different. so does anyone have any opinions after having seen these kits in the flesh? or does anyone have these and could show me some photos? i've seen the online ones, but they're pretty limited unfortunately.

Also im worried about the zerosports lip having gaps where it curves downwards - kinda looks like its not supposed to fit...?

Anyway, was just looking for some advice. Im not really keen on the sti lip, because everyone seems to have that too.

Jim (Arith) has the zero sports one that curves down. And it looks fantastic. If you haven't already done so, check out his car in the Post Your Mod section.

LOL! All in the eye of the beholder, my friend. But yes, the Zero/Sports lip is a love/hate thing. There are people that are turned off by the fact the lip curves downward at the sides. They say it looks like it's melting off the bumper. For me, it goes with my theme of curves and motion.

Got your PM Cyrus, but thought I would reply here in case others had the same question. Yes, there is a physical gap on both sides where the lip curves downward.

I consider these 'vents'. But yes, you're also right in thinking it looks like it doesn't quite fit and improperly fixed with cable ties because others have thought the same.

And yes, the gap will be more apparent in a lighter coloured car (ie- diamond grey). But I think it's elegant and different without being some sort of oddball look. Here's the picture on the Zero/Sports website:

Again, all in the eye of the beholder. I like it and don't care what others think. If you feel any slight shame or think others will make fun of you for having it, you should look at the other styles. :D

Agree Jim.

I've looked at that lip for the Spec B front end too. See below. Looks great IMO! Probably due to the curve following the Spec B lower lip curve a bit more makes the lip look a little more fitted, or not as gappy if that makes sense. Issue is the cost to ship such a large item from US or Jap.

thanks arith and sentinal for your help.

Im not worried about anyone elses opinion, im changing my car so when i look at it i think it looks like a million bucks! but you're right about the curves matching etc, theres no doubt it looks killer on your car, just war bit worried re: the lighter colour making it more noticeable. i definitely like the lip, just trying to decide what the best look overall if.

not that you havent heard it before, but arith, your car looks freakin legendary. love the whole package, and pleae dont be offended if i steal a few of your ideas!

im still also lookin into the other kits aswell if anyone has anything on them??
