You might be interested in this tread. Need a car to go down to him to see if a 3.0R can be done.

+ Hasn't had experienced tuning H6

Mind you, the V-tune is an off-the-shelf, standardised, non-customised tune, so it's not designed to optimise your particular car and whatever mods you have. It's a universal solution, not a customised one.

lol @ flu comment... no comeback for that one

You might be able to twist my arm for late June/early July as it's looking like I'll have a couple of week's work in Bendigo (current plan is to fly and grab a hire car). Would have to be done on a weekend though.

rofl.. i hope thats not on the docklands dyno :assassin:
my 2001 ez30D outback made 120kw stock on a low reading dyno with stock timing pulled due to chains rattling and setting of knock sensors. IMHO paying 300 for a reflash for 10kw is garbage. you may have some slightly better drivability, but that's a huge rip. If it was 140kw mark, then i would probably be happy. I spoke with the fella that does all the reverse engineering for RomRaider. Should be availible sometime this month finger crossed. MY01 outback, and some other ADM libs.. Means can then RomRaider reflash.

You boyz should learn tunining.. save you alot of money and there is no boost to brake things easilly.
with the full extractors back exhaust, 3" intake, reflash and leanout to 12.7 + timing, i should see around 140ish in a MY01 outback. Hopefully more, but then my turbo will fix that in a few months.

And this compares to Stevey's 3.0 how exactly?

IMHO paying 300 for a reflash for 10kw is garbage.

How much would you expect to pay for 10kw of driveable power? $50? Some people pay $1,500 for a catback exhaust for a 5-10kw gain.

You boyz should learn tunining.. save you alot of money and there is no boost to brake things easilly.

Sorry dude, not all of us are hardcore DIY backyard mechanics and tuners. I'll leave it to the experts.

Hi Dave, I have a 2003 H6 Outback last of the Gen III's, can't wait for this to become avalible.
Can you let me know when? Is it coming for sure or only just a thought at the moment?

Cheers George

Any idea how Vin is doing these tunes on 3RB's when there is only one definition available on Romraider for ADM spec 6 cylinders and he's not using Ecutek either ?

I've requested a def for my ecu on Romraider. Can't wait to start tuning. Hey Dave :)

Word has it Vin's tunes are direct from factory support. And are generic and not custom

No one on Opensource tools can do them yet - as mentioned above no definitions from Romraider at this stage

At present the only definitions available for 3RB's are as follows:

Liberty 3.0R
04 D2WD610H (MT)*
06 D0XJ001M (MT)*, D0XJ001T (AT)*

This is about to change as there are new definitions coming soon, mine included hopefully. Ours having AVCS I was hoping for around 150KW on a reasonably happy dyno but mainly looking to sort out the drive by wire/throttle overrun and gain a bit of drivability etc.

Perhaps I'm being over optimistic.

$300 for a 10KW is good value for money.
to get a powerchip ECU, is $1000+ for 10kw gain as well.

u choose...

Guys,

I have had the V-tune done twice, once as stock standard and again after fitting the Quad TIps. currently have 131Kw peak out of a 5AT.

Vin from STi at Docklands in Melbourne also races in the Australian Tarmac Challenge, drives a White WRX STi. Picked up two 1st places so far. I think he does know his stuff and he won't do anything that might break your beauty.

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Mark, did you see any gains after putting in the mufflers and getting the tune done?

Darren,

Standard tune was 116 Kw ATW, 1st V-Tune was 128 Kw ATW, after the quad tips and 2nd V-Tune, 131 Kw ATW.

That is about as far as you can go safely according to Vin, so I will stop there and now concentrate on the other mods (rear sway bar coming soon).

Kind Regards,

Mark.
