Drop me a line

Postby Ric » Tue Jun 09, 2009 7:59 pm

I visited my dad over the long weekend, and he organised a spot of abseiling for me. The rope held! :D

Ric! That's crazy! How dare you? What if you had plunged to your demise? Who would have done the upgrade?

Looks fun! :P

It was fun. Once I was satisfied the rope was secure, I didn't have a concern.

Here's a test of attaching an image to a post. It's looking back up the hill as my father had a go. (Lucky I had my phone in my pocket so I could take it.)
(Click on the image to see all of it.)
(It doesn't show in these pics, but in two places you're hanging in air where the cliff curves inwards...)

About 35 metres, and the tide was in, so we had to wait for a break in the waves to run around to the next bay to get back up again.

Looks like fun. Always wanted to abseil since watching Police Rescue. Never got around to giving it a crack though

The harness was fine, didn't notice it at all.
I went hang gliding once about twenty years ago. A learner hang glider harness looks similar, but that one was excruciating the one time I managed to stay up for more than a glide.
