Fan Belt

It looks as though i need to replace my fan belt. Pretty certain there are 2 belts there, I need to replace the thicker one. I hardly drive the car these days. Used to be 400km a week but nowadays its about 50km a week so Im in no real hurry. Thought Id seek the wisdom of the forum.

Just wondering if these can be bought from repco etc. Anyone bought one. What am i up for. Id like to replace it myself. Good/Bad idea?

Its for a 2004 Liberty GT automatic.

I did do a search and found nothing so I thought Id start a post on it.

That sort of thing I'd be using the factory belt unless there is an aftermarket item that is proven to be more reliable in terms of life and grip on the pulleys. JMO though

Replacing the belt shouldn't be all that hard though. Here are a couple of pages from the manual that might be of assistance

Just an update on this thread.

I did end up buying both belts from Subaru at a cost of $86 total.

Fitted them and all is sweet.
