It might be somewhat subtle, but it does make the car look a lot less busy :D

Good work Adam!!!

nice work... time2debadge?

What paint did you use and what prep did you do to the grill if any?

I wouldn't mind giving mine a coat of paint(probably the whole lot except the badge) while im waiting for my CF one to arrive!?

thanks boys, i'm pretty happy with it... longevity remains to be seen though.
jimmy, i used this
Image
after sanding it with some 450(?) grit after removing the silver bits from the lights/grill. grill will be obvious how when you look at the back of it. 4 screws and some little clips (gentlygently). then make sure you give it a good clean. i used windex and i'm sure that's not right but it's all i had on hand and it's my first time doing something like this so i'm allowed a few little mistakes.

having said that, if the paint even LOOKS like not sticking i'll strip the whole thing and use this
Image
which i only found out about after i'd started.

a hint is to do many light coats, if you go too heavy just once you'll get pooling marks (like drips) and it'll just start to look cheap.
i did about 8-12 coats. it dries ready for another in about 10 minutes.

Looks good Adam! I was going to do up my old factory grill to black out the chrome surrounds as well. I like the single downward arrow. It looks quite elegant. Don't like the chrome surround though, so blacking out the surround would have been the way to go. Good work!

I was about to do a group buy on this. The tint comes in 2 shades. 50% and 35%. The one I have currently is 35%. Pretty dark IMO. I was thinking about ordering a batch of the 50%. Should be lighter, look cool and stealthy, and get rid of that horrible ultra red.

C'mon Jim - chrome surround can be made to look good! But I'm biased! haha!

Without hijacking - how hard would it be to apply this film the wagon lights given the shape?

Adam - I love the mods. I had to look two twice and then three times to see the changes. I like them a lot. Really suits the black. Well done! :ok:
