So early signs of this problem began again last nite...got very light bunny hopping and very light pinging sound (only for about 1 km), and no engine light or loss of power...so i bought it strait home and swapped for my calais...So ill take it back in on tuesday hopefully!

I did have 1 question tho....i REALLY need my car tonight- and becuase my liberty lasted 400kms before the problem came back this time, do you think it would be safe to reset my ECU, to drive it tonite? I dont need to do much driving...i figure its no different to what subaru did/may do?

Bit late for me to say drive it, but I was told to drive my car while I was waiting for the 2nd cam sensor to arrive, so I drove it for around 1 and a half weeks. So I wouldn't be scared to drive it.

Not as yet (due to public holidays they wont be working) as far as I know the engine is out of the car, and I am not expecting to have the car back for a good two weeks. Once they come back to me with the problem I will let you know straight away.

I have a 2006 3.0r-b manual, i am having the exact same problems as described on here rough idol, pingin noise, stalls, loss of power, engine light and cruise light on. I have taken it in previously and they cleaned a sensor and reset the error code. I havent had the car long and its giving me the sh*ts. Any advice would be much appreciated. The car is still under warranty which is the only good thing but not for much longer.

Luke.

Subaru couldn't figure my problem out, after 7 attempts and 11 weeks....they put my engine in a new Lib the problem was immediatley transfered to the new car, end result was they replaced my engine under warranty.

yeah i have only had the car for 2 months now and it happened after about 2weeks of owning it. But yeah i only fill up at Shell and always put v-power (premium) in. Maybe its worth going for bp ultimate. Buts its going back to boxer services tomorrow. Ill let you what happens. Last time they cleared the error and said it maybe variable valve timing and will look into future if it comes back. I love the car except when things like this happen it just lets you down a tad. Its sound to me like its a fairly common thing in this model.
