Nah mate the factory colour coded silver NOT chrome grill stays - thats the whole point - to distinguish it from all the other boring formulaec jap grills with the same chrome chevron IMO anyways.

No, in fact I did mean 6000Nm at the wheels (ATW) thats about 600Nm at the crank... And thats with only 4psi!!!

LOL! Great pics Osanda! Although I think this thread is meant for 1 or 2 of your favourite gallery pics of your car. :D

You should start a new thread in the 'Photos' section if you're looking to post up your profile or historical journey.

Oops sorry  still finding my way around here. Thanks for the tip! New thread started and I've modified the post on this topic to only two photos...

That 6000Nm is a misleading figure. If you mean 6000N, it is probably the most meaningful figure of any that are bandied about but it still only relates to a certain speed in a certain gear. It will change with each gear ratio (getting smaller with the longer gear ratios)

If it is meant to be 6000Nm, I'd like to know whether that is a figure they are getting at the roller (ie, the wheels are imparting 6000Nm to the roller) or whether it is a derived figure for torque on the wheel axles.

I'm sorry bro for misleading you... But, these are the At The Wheel figures that Paul quoted to me. You sound ike you know more about the units of measurement than I do (N as opposed to Nm?). I believe this is a figure that paul obtained on a full 4 wheel dyno run - If I'm not mistaken then those ATW figures are obtained in 6th gear (I'm not sure of this so will confirm this with Paul). This was on a crude tune only - Paul said he would email me the scanned dyno chart which should be more informative than a set of figures to you. - I will post it up as soon as I get it.

Well Newtons are a measure of linear force (pushing a mower along the yard). Nm (Newton metres) are a measure of torque which is basically a twisting force (tightening up a bolt)

I'm guessing Pulse are using a roller dyno? If so, the raw figures they would be getting from it would be roller speed (revs per minute or second) and either power or torque. As power and torque are directly related to each other by rotational speed, it doesn't really matter which of these is the raw number.

Torque at the roller is the twisting force about the axle of the roller. In order to convert that to torque about the axle of the car's wheel, you need to know the ratio of the diameters of the wheel and roller.

With the lib 6 speeds, dyno operators I think are tending to use 3rd or 4th - basically the gear which at redline comes closest to the max speed of the dyno without exceeding it. Redline in 6th is about 260km/h  There's also consideration of the risk if the car comes off the rollers at full noise

Holy shit dude:lol:, awesome!! Thanks for the Physics master class! I studied mechanical and astro physics as a basic medical sciences elective at medical school and aced it and I've still retained just enough of it on my Teflon brain to get the difference between linear force vs rotational force and moments of force etc etc but dynos still barely make sense to me. I was even a part time mechanic at a Mercedes garage to fund my way through, but they didn't have a dyno
I'll pester Paul for the Dyno chart and that should clear up any uncertainty

Cheers for the 'edumacation' anyways bro

sorry, forgot to mention why I was talking about the roller dyno. If the dyno is a hub dyno, the raw torque figure they get will be the same as the wheel torque. But I'm pertty sure it's Pulse's is a roller
