B4 Primary Overboost

Postby hawks123 » Mon Apr 27, 2009 11:59 am

Ok well after having no boost on primary for about 3 months i had the up-pipe on to the secondary turbo replaced.
Now i get boost...... But to much (although some of think you can never get to much).

The Primary will boost normaly at 8psi usually 10psi, but sometimes it may go as high as 14psi before going on to secondary (atleast there's no VOD).

Does anyone know of potential causes for this, i'm thinking maybe mechanic left a hose off or something like that. All was working fine when the up-pipe failed.

Secret boost controller? lol

Overboosting primary turbo is the best way of eliminating/reducing VOD.

Well, within reason. Probably safe to run it slightly higher, but 1 bar might be a bit excessive :P

Thats normal. Your mentioning of 8-10psi sounds like boost disable due to gas. 14psi is ok and its due to your mods. Don't worry about it. Just worry that the car is working well on the gas.
