does putting unleaded into a diesel 'f' up ur car?

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

the other day, this lady with an astra diesel accidently filled up her car with unleaded.. i was right next to her when she was saying.. "ITS A DIESEL". then was replied 'well, you filled up with unleaded'.. when i heard this, i couldnt stop laughing at her..LOL and then i walked outside to my car and laughed more.

on the serious note, what should she do? as in keep driivng or something or call a tow truck..Im guessing she keep driving thinking that petrol is petrol.

They did an bit on this on Fifth Gear a little while back.
From memory they were using an old Mercedes for their diesel car and an Vectra for the petrol one.

They put unleaded in the diesel car and diesel in the petrol one. The old Merc kept going, although there was a few sparks coming from the tail pipe.
Don't know how a more modern diesel would go though. Probably would cause some problems.

They have also run an old diesel car on used cooking oil, with no ill effects.

If you want to DL the episode it's here

LOL, your such a slack c*nt for laughing (then walking outside to laugh even more) :lol: :lol:

i remember this happening on that t.v series a while back - The Block - where them tools try and renovate a house in Bondi and then sell it - anyways, the two gay guys on there filled their diesal pickup truck with unleaded (or it may have been the other way around), anyways, the car wouldn't start up or started then travelled a few meters before clonking out and dying. :lol: :lol: ..........think u need to get the fuel tank flushed out and probs the motor aswell............

im sure that if u were in the same situation as i was, u would at least be in one of the 2 situations;
-either crack up inside and laugh at her or
- walk outside and crack up
but i couldnt hold it, it was just very funny to me..
