MY07+ Rear Bar on Pre-face lift Wagon?

Body kits, seat covers, fluffy dice, and other non-performance mods.

Should I fit an MY07+ rear bar (Wagon) to a pre-face lifted model (If it's possible)?

MY07+ Rear Bar on Pre-face lift Wagon?

Postby swingn » Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:43 am

Hi All

As some of you know, old WASABI had a slight alteration with a truck a few weeks ago. Among other things, the rear bar has to be replaced.

I know it has been discussed with the sedan (Which proved to be a fair bit of work) but I'm actually thinking about getting the MY07+ rear bar put on... Just to be different.

Does anyone know if it is a straight bolt on, or are clips in different locations etc? - Lights are obviously the same size / shape, so should be no problem from that point of view.

Aside from the fitment, do you guys think it would be a good move, or should I just stick to the standard bar?

Your feedback would be much appreciated :D

Cheers
Matt

Ever considered cutting the wagon bit off……

Lol….you know me matt I would not usually encourage a cosmetic mod, but I think if you did go for the 07 rear bar maybe consider the jdm one with the lights instead of the vents………I think its the jdm one…..

I thought the post facelift wagons dont have the faux vent things at the back, that it was just a sedan thing? I could be wrong

You may be right actually... But I swear I've seen some face lifted wagons with those vents! Which I would be switching to the JDM foggies at some stage.

Trieu, did your old wagon have those vents? Or am I just dreaming them up? :P

I was actually comparing the rear of his wagon next to Jims sedan while we were washing our cars when I realised hes missing the vents.

Apart from the vents are there any differences between the post and pre facelifted rear wagon bar?

Upon further research, I think your right about the wagon not having the vents (Vents are the only difference as far as I know)... But I swear I have seen face lifted wagons with vents before!

Oh well, looks like I'll be sticking with the standard :P

The rear diffuser part is different from pre- and post-facelift. However as mentioned above, I'm not sure how much of the sedan post-facelift rear bar is carried over to the wagon. Seems like they're very similar from the back...

And personally I'm not a fan of the faux-vents, nor the foglights. I am not sure if they're even foglights, they may just be reflectors? However, your mileage may vary.
