Doin alright?? Mate - to the uneducated, they would never have known - you easily kept with Mark and Al. No wonder your FC was up the shite though!! That h pattern of yours would've copped a hiding, and I reckon your redline felt like it went a few rounds with M'Ali. :D

You've got one awesome ride bud! :good:

which i why i left after the first break.

Hey Overl0ad,

Are referring to the Perrin Positive Steering Response System?

[i]What is the PSRS?
These kits are also known as the ALK or Anti-Lift-Kit. The anti-lift part of the kit is a very small feature compared to the benifits of the solid type connection the PSRS makes. Eliminating the OEM super soft bushing provides significant improvement in how the car steers during hard cornering and even in a straight line. So P.S.R.S stands for Positive Steering Response System. The PSRS replaces the front control arm, rear bushing. This OEM bushing is designed to be extra compliant to reduce NVH, and make the ride more comfortable. The compliancy of this bushing is not something a performance oriented driver is looking for.

How long have you had this mod?

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Aaaaahhh, so extra castor for better turn in and nolathene bushes for much better response. Traded off by NVH.

Can't see why that'd have you leave after half way. Just add to the enjoyment. ;) Or perhaps it the ex-WRX owner that just sees the Lib GT-B as a little too soft.

^^^^^ Where does Marks knowledge cease?? :ok:

Brilliant - thanks. So next question is... One assumes that this stiffens the bejesus out of the setup and would make the car "skittish"? :help:

Mark was following me. That bugger can certainly drive. Mark i should have
let you lead, i was probably holding you up!

Al,

It was the other way around actually. Your 2.5T was pulling away from me with the better torque. Also, I needed someone to show me the way and the lines to take. It is never easy taking the lead and you did a great job from where I sat.

Could not for the life of me shake that Darren but!

That'd be my website by the sounds of it. ;-)

And yes, I have learnt a bit about cars over time. And also very much need to get onto my site and update it. Lots of new stuff there I need to update. Ho hum, oh to have time.

More dyno charts, more mods (for the Lib GT-B this time) and mod path plans and crystal balling for them.

Oh yeah. I see these in the Legacy HyperRev. Looks like better control but introduces a whole lot of NVH. I'll just stick to the roll centre adjusters.

Btw great pics Darren! Looks like you guys had a blast. Although I'd always be scared of those hidden mobile speed cameras about though. But at least you guys don't have the stupid double demerit system.

i had the PSRS on the 2.5i. i think i had it on the 2.5i for about a year or so.

and i had perrin endlinks, found them too stiff, went to group A, preferred the stiff, so went back to perrin. i guess i'm just a sucker for the perrin stuff.

so i just moved it all over when i bought the GTB.

makes a massive difference to what you can feel on the road. if you want ANY comfort in the car, better to go with the AVO ones like tangcla did. it's more geared to someone who still wants to be able to drive the car in all conditions.

the Perrin PSRS is specifically geared to track. the biggest issue i've got with it is that is has so much caster (7 degrees) that the wheels rub on the inside of the guard. the plastic bits. the steering in the middle zone is much more sensitive/responsive now. you REALLY do't want to fall asleep at the wheel as the PSRS feeds everything back up and will "tramtrack" alittle more.

the PSRS for our cars was designed to stop the front control arms from squirming under hard cornering, causing a change in the angle, so your trun in is more consistant regardless of how hard you enter the corner. the secondary effect is that it reduces lift in the front. the current design also means that it doesn't dive due to flex. the PSRS on the gen 3's reduced lift as a main effect, and refuced flex in the arms as a secondary. but the worst side effect is that they also promoted dive.

i left because i didn't feel comfortable going round the corners where i can't see what's on the other side. i've got this fear that i'll meet a bicycle/motorcycle (as i ride both bicycles and motorbikes) on the other side.

i'd rather spend the $X for the track and if i screw up, the only one i'll take out is me.

maybe it's cos i had in my head "relaxing drive to somewhere for coffee/lunch, maybe a sprint back through some nice roads, more coffee." :)
