hey guys,

Thought I would introduce myself as I have been reading all your posts for the last week and felt a bit rude not contributing!

My names Matt and I am a huge subaru fan. Have recently sold my 92 GX Liberty and am currently after a MYO5 3.0R-B. I love that H6 paired with the STI 6 speed!

Not sure if this is the right place to do it (sorry, I'm new to all this forum stuff!) but can anyone tell me the major differences (if any) between a '04 and an '05 3.0R-B??

Welcome Matt. Don't worry, others (myself included) have ghosted for a lot longer than a week before signing up/introducing themselves

Differences between the 04 and 05 3RB? umm, the accessory instrument (thingy in the centre console with the time, fuel economy, temp, etc) changed from reading km/l to l/100km and also, the "Bright" button was removed and its functionality moved to the brightest notch of the instrument dimmer wheel. I don't know of any other changes though.

I knew something was bugging me about this post. There was no MY04 RB - the 3 litre Liberty models were only introduced in the MY05 models, which came out in August 2004.

Subaru's work in model years, with each MY coming out roughly in the third quarter of the preceding year - e.g. MY06 Liberty came out in July 05.

Hmm as above, the first 3.0's were MY05, so they always had the l/100km (well at least my MY05 delivered June 2005 did). And the Bright button was still under the cubby - maybe it changed location in MY06 or the facelift ?
