Not too shabby at all mate, I considered an XR5 myself not too long ago :) IMHO the MPS3 is quick-ish but unrefined and feels a bit cheap, you made the right decision!

I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't encourage mods (even though I'm not allowed any myself :resent: ) so here's my 2c!

I'm not sure if they've done it to the Focus too, but the Mondeo XR5 has a torque limiter in 1st and 2nd gear (maybe 3rd as well, can't remember). Basically what that means is that you don't get full power until you're already moving at a fair rate of knots. It makes them nice and friendly with very little torque steer, but not "that" quick in the lower gears. Tune = bye bye.

Also, the ECU on them sits in the intake air for cooling, under the airbox IIRC, and interrupts the airflow. A quick and easy mod is to make up a spacer to lift it a little - just enough to keep the ECU cool without having it practically blocking your intake. It can make it run a little lean but if you're getting a tune it won't affect you.

Anyway you should have many happy years with it, those Ovlov engines are near-on indestructible and sound farken horn too.

Oh and my favourite Ford acronym...

Driver
Returns
On
Foot

And yes it's backwards... just like their design :p Jokes haha

I think I have brought your car

Postby Give me Liberty » Wed Mar 25, 2009 12:37 pm

I think I have brought your subaru liberty.I brought it from Alliance Auctions in Moorebank Sydney. The car had Qld plates, rego: 071 IUU. Your name is on the service book, do you live in Yamanto Qld. I can tell that the car has had a few minor mods such as the original grill replaced with a sports grill, my mechanic informed me that the car has STI springs and there is a set of eyelids over the headlights. Are there any other mods, Mate hate to say this to you because I know you had heaps of trouble with it but the car hasnt given me any troubles at all. I love driving it, yes its a non turbo and only 2 litre buty it goes well, handle great, I just fill up petrol and off I go. I bet ya know something will go wrong with it LOL , knock on wood Im wrong. Mate can I ask if its not too much trouble to write me back the history on the car , such as any further mods or if you have changed the clutch etc etc. Forgot to mention did you guys own a cat or dog cause man there was hair everywhere when I first bought it lol
