Probably another week or two. Once production stops it won't start again until the next batch.

Guys, I was talking about the painting of the mufflers in gunmetal, and it looks like it can be done at the muffler place. I'll get back to you on the pricing but it will probably be $20 - $30. PM me if interested! Otherwise as mentioned before, you can do it yourself prior to fitting or just get a muffler shop to do it.

The paint is high temperature so will no fade or burn off. However keep in mind it is still paint, and will scratch.

Darn, should have had a closer look at your ones yesterday Jim! As you drove away I couldn't stop looking at em, very nice! I'm assuming the finish will end up looking the same regardless of mild or stainless steel? I will need to have a closer inspection of your ones before I can make up my mind 8)

Has anyone got an MP3 recording of these yet?

Given their straight through nature, I'm quite interested in hearing the sounds from them. :-) It'll also make a great selling point for others interested in this buy. ;)

Here's some more recordings for you, Craig.

Arith - The gunmetal mild steel mufflers with a Phat dump pipe, K2 Gear dual resonated centre pipe, and Blitz intake

Blacknwhite - Stainless steel mufflers with a Phat dump pipe, custom 3" single resonator centre pipe, and HKS panel filter (don't mind the smoke I made Pete do a few revs while the car was still cold). Pete's still sounds the best! Damn you Pete!

Moggy - Stainless steel mufflers with no other modifications

Here are some pictures of the production version on blacknwhite's car:

For people wondering, here's the gunmetal painted muffler, and then some accompanying shots of them on my car:

they sound really good, the gun metal looks good too but don't know if it will suit a silver.....

Thanks for that Arith :-)

That depth is about as good as you can expect. I can't hear a vast difference in those fitted with dumps, etc (and ye, that's with decent headphones) but that's mainly because the tip size will always limit the massive 5" tip throb obtained on most WRX's.

But still a good result and very stealthy. :good:

I think the gun metal suits the guys from TEAM Black :D

For my silver beasty, I think I'll stay with the natural stainless finish. Hope the BLING or RICE police don't pull me over though

Got my phat muffs fitted on thursday, quality was top notch. Stainless steal looks very pretty but I am leaning towards gunmetal to compliment the OPB.. Sound is perfect for my needs, not too loud or obnoxious, quiet at idle to keep within legalities but has an aggressive deep note when you give it a little poke - much improved over stock. The GF doesn't like em though, says the stock muffs look more classy and she hates the deeper note - but what do girls know? 8)

I'd also like to add that the wait is worth it guys, hang in there. For this $$ I really doubt you will find a better alternative (HiTech can G-F-ed!). Any delays have been due to perfecting the product. I will speak to Jim shortly about posting a clip, 2.0T represent!

P.S I agree on leaving the mufflers unpainted on non-dark cars

Doesn't have to be. :D If one is going for a dark on light theme, the dark coloured exhaust will suit nicely. Because some people already have a charcoal STi front lip, mesh/honeycomb grill, dark tinted windows, and black/charcoal wheels. A gunmetal exhaust would be quite appropriate and wouldn't look out of place. :P
