Sunroof Tint

Can't believe how big this sunroof is compared to a sedan's size.

Wondering if anyone has tinted their wagon's sunroof or just left it? Any issues with tinting glass up there?

Really, it is massive :!: If the car was low enough, I'd be in and out of it "Dukes of Hazard" style.

Yep, I've had mine tinted.

Makes a massive difference and I now only close the screen in full sun when my daughter is in the back seat and trying to sleep.

Tinter warned of a slight chance of the glass cracking if it you use cheap tint and it gets really, REALLY hot ... but apparently mine is not a problem. So he says anyway.

It's now been through a Qld summer with no dramas, so I don't imagine you southerners having any issues.

I have 32% on the sides & 15% on the sunroof, looks good with no probs.
The tinter wanted to go 5%, then after doing it he agreed the 15% was the better option.
My theory was that it would defeat the purpose of having a sunroof if i went 5%

I just checked into 2 places for having the roof in the wagon done. Both refused saying that it will crack...

Any one in Melb had theirs done and had any issues???

I'm in NSW i don't think our sun is any different to the VIC sun  , but my sun roof has been tinted for nearly 2 years & spent the first 12 months + in an open car park every day & it has definitely NOT cracked & i think from memory its 15% on the sunroof. :)

as CJ said - it's NOT to black it out, just to remove the sting from the sun...

Yeah mines tinted too - same concerns from many commercial operators saying it will crack. Its whilst they apply it they worry. After the fact its fine. Its because they use a heat gun whilst applying it.

My guy was just really careful.

Tint film has good heat rejection as well as UV, so doesn't defeat the purpose. Light comes in and heat doesn't
