** UPDATE AS OF WEDNESDAY MARCH 18TH **
Thanks again for everyone's patience. There were a few delays due to the muffler sitting back a bit which meant another 100 tips at the correct length had to be polished.
But we're back on track and it appears another 3 sets will be ready tomorrow afternoon, and the next people on the list have been contacted. I've been told another 2-3 additional sets may even be ready by Friday, so I'll contact another set of folks if that's confirmed.
Miscommunication
Folks, I've made a terrible mistake. I thought the $800 price was for the mufflers fitted. However talking to Phat today, the $800 is just for mufflers only. You're meant just to pick them up at Phat's place (or delivered to those outside Sydney) and get them fitted up elsewhere. I checked with Phat and he said he would be willing to fit the mufflers during time of pick-up, but would charge for the labour.
Trust me folks. He's making no money at $800 a set already, so asking for a fee to install them (and he charges very fair prices) is reasonable. Most muffler shops will charge between $30 - $45 for fitting. Or you can simply do it yourself as it's just 4 bolts and 4 hangers.
In the end the overall cost of what you're paying to what you actually get is still excellent value.
If this news has upset anyone and they wish to pull out and request a refund of their deposit, please PM me. I apologise for not confirming this fact up front as it would have detracted some people from buying.
25 Sets Sold!
Phat prepaid to produce x25 sets, and was worried we would not reach anywhere near this number. Well, dwayne is 25th buyer (unless someone pulls out due to the news I unveiled above)! So as Mano suggested, we should celebrate such a fantastic and large group buy!
What this also means is that unless someone pulls out, we have now sold all x25 sets with no more left to sell! So anyone interested in getting a set now will have to wait until we get enough people interested before putting in an order to have another batch made.
