I reminded BUDDAH that the one rule on this forum is "respect other members", and gave him 24 hours to retract his statements above.
He read the PM this morning, but chose not to respond, so he is now banned for an indefinite period.

I'm open to suggestion, about how long the ban should be, and if I should remove all the related posts above...

hey Ric,
I see no reason for BUDDAH's comments except that it was a simple misunderstanding. I say see what BUDDAH says or does in way of explaining his comments in the nest few days and take it from there.

If BUDDAH doesn't bother to respond, then this forum shouldn't bother about BUDDAH me'thinks.

I agree with Mo.

When I first read Buddah's comment I thought that's a bit OTT, looks like it was taking the original comment that was made in the wrong context.

Something that can easily be redeemed IMO.

Lets just see what his excuse was and go from there.

Could possibly be a misunderstanding, but he needs to ensure he reads the thread correctly before offending people.

I've just unbanned BUDDAH, because he said he would like to apologise to Phil.
He also said he's received some pretty nasty PMs.
I can understand a number of people are pissed off with him. Please, give him a chance to explain.
I won't tolerate this turning into a war. Please give him a chance to apologise, and move on.

Well yes I totally f up a combination of cheap red wine or what ever it was and emotions wrote that post .

I totally misread the post and read it as injured not as it was insured.
Phil please except my full and sincere apology for my post

The reason that I didn't reply strait away was that I had some very nasty PMs sent some of which were a threating manner and some members showed their true colours ,
MY post was a mistake the PMs were thought out and mulishly delivered I have decided to delete these PMs and not post them and move on if I am allowed .
My thanks to Ric ( a very good MOD) for his emails that gave me a chance to repent my sins

good to see that we can all get along like the civil adults we are all.. does take balls to admit an error, specially something you seemed pretty passionate about BUDDAH, and of course someone willing to accept the apology without any grudges.. good work mo..

on the other hand, real shame to hear about your ride mate, hope she all scrubs up ok, and your back on the road in no time... you have to watch those qld drivers hey.. ha ha...

and will have to excuse my ignorance here, but if you re-bend steel, ie chassis rails, wont that make them considerably weaker than before? hence if ( heaven forbid ) someone hits you again, it makes that area of the car so much more vulnerable to crumpling more so than normal?

or shall i safely assume that there would be pretty strict guide lines to adhere to, with damage to chassis..

I would assume that there are pretty strict guidelines as to the straightening of chassis. They are designed to bend in certain places, it bent right where they wanted it to.

I get the car back next week, can't wait as I've had enough of Toyota Corolla's to last me a lifetime :bad:

It's only taken 7 weeks, but the Lib is finally back from its little 'holiday'. First impressions are pretty good considering everything including motor and gearbox was removed. panel fit of the front bumper is better than it was before and the paint is excellent. There's no rattles or squeaks and it tracks 100% straight. with no pull.

Few minor gripes, they failed to replace the STi front lip, there's a few marks on the front rims and the dash illumination is not connected to the headlights, it's always in the dull setting. I guess they're pretty minor fixes overall. I have a list of parts that were replaced that is 4 pages long.

So if you're in QLD and need a little touch up, I can highly recommend Domroy Prestige Panel and Paint in Moorooka.

I've got to go out and re aquaint myself with the smoothness of the Lib now
